Back in the 70's I took a class called 'Jerry Burak's tuning for performance', this guy is the master of the two stroke engine. He had plexiglass expansion chambers that he pumped cigar smoke into to see how they worked and why they did what they did. He explained all the different jets and what they did and when. It was a wealth of knowledge that I still use to this day. Fuel injection has changed a lot of that, but motorcycle carburetors are really pretty basic and simple. Happy to hear you figured it out, an under performing dirt bike just isn't much fun.

I got pissed and ordered a smart carb. I wouldn’t say it has more power but it does run well and it does seem to get a little better mileage out of a tank of gas. I bought a Sherco 300 sef a year ago and haven’t ridden my Husky as much this last year, but I cannot bring myself to sell it. Simple carb bike, w/ kick start, so I will likely hang onto it.

Then at 26 after discharged from the Army in 1965 I bought a used Triumph 500 and started racing in Desert Enduros. I eventually moved to the Big Island of Hawaii living there for 40 years and 25 years was spent as a Rock Island Rider, every year cutting brand new 100 miles of trail for each race, it took us every weekend for 6 months to machete/chainsaw through the Puna Jungles and Mauna Loa volcano rain forests. we put on the annual Mauna Kea 200, two days 200 miles of do or die racing from sea level going through 11 climate changes on the way up to Mauna Kea Volcano’s 13,600’ elevation getting there through Jungles, Rainforest, nasty bad boy a’a’ lava flows, and day two was reverse course back down to Hilo town for the finish at the original start line. I’de say this was the first World Class extreme off road racing event that started today’s extreme hard core racing phenomena. The all volunteer Rock Island Riders crew after 29 years of annual race events shut down the race because the Department of land and natural resources (DLNR) micro managed us too “no this and no that” point it became impossible to lay out a 200 mile course and we got tired of Kowtowing to the “no Aloha” DLNR who would eventually have us racing in a WallMart parking lot with the biggest obstacle being a speed bump. This analysis is off. The democrats and republicans are capitalist parties. They are funded, “bribed” by corporations whom advise, write bills and set limits on what politicians can say about the billionaires class who owns them. They are a Uni Party, committed to growing the stock market and appeasing the corporations or nations who have bribed them the most. Remember in West Virginia and other states in America, our people fought against the companies with arms. They were fighting against “Coal Towns” or “Company Towns”. Both parties are committed to turning America into one big “Company Town”. That’s the real fight going on since the 1900’s. The freedom to own land, housing, free government and production are all threatened by billionaires. Now we have a South African Billionaire who bribed his way into the President Elects calls with foreign leaders. Best believe Elon wants to own at least one Company Town.
@RacerRed17 күн бұрын
I agree with a lot of what you said, though I don’t believe they are a uniparty. I used to believe that, until there were clear differences in American culture, American law, and American politics. For example, Trump didn’t sign millions of acres of land over to “Wilderness” but Obama did. Then Biden started the 30x30 plan which locked up American land. Sold it to Chinese entities etc. Trump didn’t do any of that when he was in, and he didn’t start any wars. There has been a clear difference. However, they both might have different financial interests. I doubt it though, considering Trumps net worth is less than when he started.

@@RacerRed You've been fed some misinformation about abortions. LESS than 1% of all abortions are performed at 21 weeks or later. 25 weeks is the general cutoff where a fetus can survive outside the womb on it's own (some extraordinary cases it can be down to 22 weeks with intensive care). Over 90% of abortions are performed at 14 weeks or earlier. People, including Trump will put the image of "kids" and "babies" being killed to stir an emotional response from people. It's a complicated enough topic with plenty of medical and morality based factors that won't be ever agreed upon. BUT the campaign to overturn Roe v Wade and to defend anti-abortion laws (some states with with no exceptions) is purely disingenious and fuel by zealots who have assumed that emotional argument rather than considering what is truly a personal and medical decision.
@RacerRed19 күн бұрын
@@malm1231 Show me respect and I will show you respect. I like to have debates this way. The problem with letting people choose is that some people make bad decisions. If you legalized murder and said "Let them decide if its the moral thing to do" then lots of people would get away with murder. We have to decide that human life is valuable at some stage. Wether thats at conception, or after birth, i think we can all agree that murder is wrong.
@RacerRed19 күн бұрын
@@TT-pr9bx I understand that less than 1% of abortions are after 21 weeks. That equates to thousands of babies killed because there are over 1,000,000 abortions per year. A better way to have this discussion is to acknowledge me as an intelligent man with a different opinion than you, as oppose to making claims that I must be brainwashed or lack knowledge that you have. I watched an interview with an abortion doctor who quit because the babies would kick him and pull away while he was cutting them up... its horrible. At some early stage I think that we should leave it to the women to decide, but she better find out quickly. I don't think its right, but it is on each person, not me. In my opinion, human life is special, and its separate from the mother at conception. "My body my choice" doesn't apply when you are killing a human life that is separate from your own. I agree, this is a complicated topic for many people. Its hard. Should a women who is willing to get an abortion be on birth control, or get her tubes tied? Maybe... In cases of rape (which is very rare) adoption is a great option. Here is where we disagree, essentially: I believe life is precious as soon as the heartbeat begins. You believe it's the mothers right to end a process as late as 25 weeks because you don't see it as a life. I feel bad for the women, but I feel worse for the babies. It's not an easy topic.
