Nicole had been highly undervalued by so many. She’s amazing and it was ALWAYS a thrill to watch her play. So impressive. I hope she gets into coaching because so many could learn from her-on the field and off. ❤🥎

Great insight! Just curious Nicole, but what type of forearm injury did you have?
@PitcherUniversity4 күн бұрын
Thanks for liking our video! And it was never diagnosed as anything, but I had severe forearm pain, where it felt like I had a knife dragging through my arm every time I used it 😭 However, some rest, some serious work from TB12, and a LOT of rolling out, I was able to get it feeling right again!

@pitcheruniversity my daughter has had forearm pain, also undiagnosed but still has pain after a year of PT and a few specialist visits. Her pain starts in the ulnaris muscle and travels to her fingers and elbow and it is worse when writing and making certain movements as well as movement pitches. Was curious to see if it was the same issue. So glad you found relief for your injury. Thanks for responding .

My wife and I have had a front row seat to Nicole May's growth as a pitcher, teammate, and woman since she arrived at OU. Her advice can be used by all athletes at any level. If I was still coaching football and lacrosse, I would show this video to all my players on Day one! Boomer!

@@surlyginger that's a great goal! If she can get her fastball and changeup consistent, she should have no problem achieving that goal!

I get the message on beauty but from a purely phys Ed body mechanics view each sport does have an ideal body type that gives the athlete better natural odds.
@PitcherUniversity4 күн бұрын
I understand! However, my point with softball is that body type doesn’t matter all that much, because there’s so many ways your body can be used to your strength in this sport! Obviously we still want to lift and get stronger, but our body’s sizes can differ. The point I was trying to get at was that softball is unlike a sport like gymnastics, where there is a typical body type/height/etc!

Nicole May's team won its final game every season of her OU career. Let that sink in.
@womblero2 ай бұрын
The final game of the 2024 WCWS against Texas illustrates this point beautifully. Karlie Keeney starts out the game, Paytn Monticelli is brought in to get one, critical out, Lefty K. Deal got a couple of important innings to bridge to Nicole May, a righty, before K-Max came on to close down the Longhorn hitters. It was a coaching masterpiece by Jen Rocha. The Sooner pitchers kept the Texas hitters at bay - just enough. It seems that the era of the staff "ace" will be replaced by complementary pitching staffs to keep everyone fresh, and batters honest.

I wish i had more orientation about what to do, cause to me it was just like you have to be good or your getting cut, get in shape but all by yourself, and better communication with the coaches they were like im your coach and that’s it and finally talk a lot more about mental sport issues
@PitcherUniversity3 ай бұрын
It can definitely be cut throat out there, hopefully you have a good support group to lean on in tough times. We'll definitely be getting more into the mental side of things in the future, but if there's something in particular you'd like us to talk about, please let us know!
