John and Paul went along with George's Hindu trip, but they did so as tourists. Regardless, 'Across The Universe,' like George's other songs which they did include in their repertoire, withstood the test of time, and added to the spiritual dimension in their music. Paul is the consummate musician. He could have been the Beatles all by himself. But he is just an actor on a stage, whereas George was real.
