@winnytp Жыл бұрын
Hey! No not really - they don't isolate a lot of noise and the sound signature isn't geared towards studio or stage performances. I would look at options like Beyerdynamic DT 770, Audio-Technica M50x, Rode studio monitors, Sennheiser HD 280 Pro, etc. Something designed for studio use. Hope that helps.

Thank you for very informative review! It is hard to find this kind of truthfulness from any reviewer, because everybody thinks, their hearing is like industry standard. I like highly accurate sound so studio monitors are mostly my preference. I also like grados, even they are very coloured, they are highly revealing and they don't have that bloated bass what 99,9% headphones and speakers have nowadays.

hello great review.. did you try them yet with a 20 ohm resistor?
@winnytp2 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Yes I actually did. The 20 ohm resistor does 2 things: 1. Lowers the sensitivity of the ER3; 2. Adds slight "air" harmonics above 5-6Khz Noticeable difference? Yes but only very minor, not a big change.

Thank you for nice review. I have er3se, MDR-CD900ST, ATH-AD2000X. 3se has a best clarity and details among them. The difference is not small. Design of Etymotic is really good way for my narrow ear canal which is best way to deriver sound details to my eardrum. My personal favorite is BA because of the good detail description although high frequency response is low which i cannot recognize.

@winnytp2 жыл бұрын
Personally, I don't believe DAC/amp combo makes a big difference to sound. I find most reviewers who claim to hear 'differences' are having a placebo effect. Your ears will be the best judge though. I haven't heard the iFi Zen DAC. There will be a big difference between HD 599 and K712 Pro though. I had the HD 598 a few years ago, it was ok but the AKG is much more refined, detailed and with a larger soundstage.

@@winnytp After getting the DAC/AMP combo and then exchanging that with Aune t1s, I 100% agree that DAC doesn't make any difference apart from the noise floor. If you got a good motherboard, you won't have that issue, but an amplifier is very necessary(for volume)

The last song (MODOC) is a true digital recording, which makes for a very clean, almost sterile (in a good way). Some very intricate, well produced pieces of musicianship.

@winnytp2 жыл бұрын
Hey! Great question, sorry I didn’t cover it in the video. I personally find Etymotic earphones very comfortable. However, they take a while to get used to. And you do feel them inside your ears a bit more than regular earphones, but it’s not a terrible sensation (at least for me). The benefit, too, of a deep seal, is that you hear less of your own breathing. One thing I should mention though - because they seal so well, they can feel a bit claustrophobic after a few hours. So I recommend taking a break maybe every 1.5 hours. Hope this helped and thanks for your positive comment!
