Sorry but when you sell a game system (at around $1100 for all the books) and then you say "oops, some of the best models to play the game are out of stock for months on end" that seems like it should be illegal. I think there are circumstances where recasts are completely and 100% justified.

I was interested in rejoining MESBG and really liked the Arnor look and was planning to buy them up until I saw it was $50 for 2 knights and that pushed me right back out. And I can normally stomach GW prices.

Guys did you know you can get an entire space marine army out of just one box of intercessors. All you need to do is print out the rest of the army. Do youtubers ever stop and think how stupid they are before they do things or are they just that desperate for attention and a handout.

I think this is sheer copium at play here resin is not expencive by any means and its not like GW is producing these on an industrial scale. Resin casting is actually cheaper than injection molding both in materials and the cost of replacing mold. These are expencive purely because GW said so simple as.

It's worth mentioning that lower prices doesn't nessecarily equal lower profits. If GW lowered their prices by 20% they might sell 20% more units. I would spend more money on GW miniatures if they were better value. I flat out refuse to pay $40(US) for a single space marine character, when a box of ten is just $55. If I want a Chaplain or a Praetor, I kit-bash one from a regular marine.

Bad take on GW pricing and legitimacy mate. GW has a long and storied history of money grabs in the form of retconning entire worlds, and entire armies or changing the scale every few years. I have a giant space marine army I can’t use anymore, outside of unofficial and current edition games. If I ever get one, which is almost a certainty at this time, I will use my 3d printer to print up an entirely new Primaris SM army to replace the one GW greed took from me. I had been a GW customer since Rogue Trader days, owned four armies, and will never give another cent to GW.

I just can't bring myself to justify purchasing cool minis i want for display when a $65 pack of 6-9 minis is the exact same price as Sigvald or maybe just two units about the same size as the 6 minis. Heck the only reason I'm getting the male hedonites is because the seductive male minis market is starved and demonettes are gross.

It was my Hobby when I was in my teens. Now, 10 years Pause, I looked again in a Games Workshop/ Warhammer Store. Space Marine 2 and the total war Triology came out. It must have washed in sooooo much money. For sure its not only me, after this digital PR (these ganes are nothing else), looking again into this hobby. So I visited the store and the online Shop. Nearly everything is sold out. How can this happen in times with 3D Print? Then- so much old models. Individualize- no. The same old shit Chaos Terminators like 10 years ago. No new heads or helmets. For these high Prices. Really? For me its mostly painting and collecting. So why should I not look for alternitives? By the way, I am from Germany. Are there the same problems with the online store in Great Britain?

Warhammer players are by far the biggest gatekeepers also so if you wanted to play with replicas they woudnt let you. GW is overpriced. Similar companies make models for other games that cost less. AMG for example have really good sculpts and cost less.

Solid video, counterpoint. google the profit margins of amazon, bandai, konami ect and then google GW's....They are making an insane amount of money on these models. I hate the concept of buying recast stuff but when I can get something 70% cheaper with little to no physical issues that can't be fixed with 2 minutes of sanding it becomes understandable. 14% profit margin versus 60% is disgusting.

I stored my citadel paint for 3 years and nothing really went wrong with it the things that ceperated could be mixed back together and never had that many problems with citadel paint so far.

Watching this 2 years later since then, GW has incrtheir price 3 times due to their reason of "inflation"while Chinese racasters make the model cheaper because more business is opening. I can say I'm not sorry for buying a recast Dreadnaught that cost only 20bucks and they plays just fine in my local GW store tournament.😂

I think for me the Werewolves and the Shadow are my favourites they were insta buys. The hill trolls and Burdhur look incredible, can’t wait for them to release

I pretty much only buy MTO Middle Earth miniatures and love that they're all metal.

GW is working their employees at sweatshop conditions themselves. The Designers barely can live of their salaries. When I looked for a job there, I was laughing my ass off to what conditions they work. The most memorable selling point was: "Doing what you love is part of the salary" - my ass! I don't live in a cardboard box just to be allowed to design plastic toys for whales!

I think one thing that’s great with a lot of these models is I’ve heard lots of people have wildly different favourites as opposed to everyone focussed on one specific thing. They definitely did a good job with this batch of models! Aranarth is my fave

Ok im new to the hobby and late to the vid. But before watching i would like to say "card game - proxy vs alt art" basically if you prinkt a model its like a proxy card and can or can not be used based on setting. Altered models given they hold the same features (size weapons etc) should not be an issue unless high level play is involved. Warhammer is expensive? Try keeping up with competitive mtg standard.... atleast my models dont devalued like my cards.

You fail to mention that the actual game workshop models are begginer friendly. As they are very easy to assemble and follow.

Thing is, staff at GW get FIFTY PERCENT discount. Most company perk discounts are 10-20% but the fact they can give their employees such a hefty discount shows how much we as consumers are being overcharged.

If GW didn't work so hard to destroy 3rd party brick and mortar stores by making themselves a competitor to their customers the vendors they wouldn't have the overheads. They got greedy tried to cut out the middle man and put up their prices. Its their fault. They should have opened one main big store in major citys and supported the hell out of local game stores. The bug flagship gw stores could have doubled as distribution depos to the 3rd party sellers but gw didn't want to do that because Independent stores means competition with other systems and models but its better for the hobby

Price has to do with market value. If people with pay it then it’s worth it. Nothing to do with overhead, other than overhead provides a base line of what must be charged to make a profit.

would be great if they actually redid the old models. the gondor n rohan soliders are crap and full of mould lines in awful spots that suck to clean up. the orcs/uruks & goblins arent horrible but the mould lines and miscasts on good factions is absolutely insane
