LYRICS Gazed at the ceiling from below A splendid Michelangelo Filled my heart with delight Last Saturday night Arrived believing from home Climbed every step inside St. Peter's Dome Claustrophobic and ex-Catholic Last Saturday night Now how come nobody really noticed Puff of white smoke knocked me out The truth is hiding, lurking, banking Things they do at night It's quite suspicious to say the least Even mentioned it to my local priest One Our Father, three Hail Marys Each Saturday Night I wish somebody would tell me That it's only a show I'll confess, own up, let's face it In my concrete tuxedo It's quite suspicious to say the least While mentioning it to my priest One Our Father, three Hail Marys Each Saturday night One Our Father three Hail Marys Each Saturday night One Our Father three Hail Marys Each Saturday night

Only surpassed by the duet he did with his friend Eric Clapton, fabulous song. I grew up with the Beatles and so glad I did.

This song hit me hard today - never heard it before. A fellow on the mountain I live on passed away and left behind all these vinyl records. This song stood out beautifully. Open E 12 string harmonics on the guitar. What a song. A total unknown classic.

Oh Lord, won't you listen in to me now Oh Love, I got to get me back to you somehow I never knew that life was loaded I'd only hung around birds and bees I never knew that things exploded I only found it out when I was down upon my knees Looking for my life, looking for my life Oh boy, you've no idea what I've been through Oh Lord, I feel so stuck that I can't get to you Had no idea that I was heading Toward a state of emergency I had no fear where I was treading I only found it out when I was down upon my knees Looking for my life Caught up on me with intensity Had no idea where I was heading I only found it out when I was down upon my knees Looking for my life, looking for my life Oh boys you've no idea what I've been through Oh Lord, I got to get back somehow to you I never knew that life was loaded I only hung around birds and bees I never knew that things exploded I only found it out when I was down upon my kees Looking for my life I never got any any GCE's I never knew that things exploded I only found it out when I was down upon my knees Looking for my life, looking for my life Looking For my Life

In some of these earlier photos Paul McCartney looks younger than George. Well Paul did have that baby face. Looking For My Life, fantastic tune. Love all the songs on Brainwashed.

My favorite gem on Brainwashed LP. Makes me think of John singing "Watching the Wheels", Paul on "Junior's Farm" & Ringo describing life on his "No, No Song" Miss George & John so much.

...or unfitting, as the case may be. I'm glad George isn't here to see the mess our human race has made of this planet. Hubris, ignorance and greed.

First time hearing it- what a great feeling. I hadn't heard this song since my childhood and then maybe 10 years ago this song popped up in a documentary about George and I flipped-it was so emotional hearing it again for the first time almost. Don't know why it's simplistic melody effects me so much - but the lyrics couldn't describe the way it makes me feel any better. Peace

I think that this is the first time that I've heard George's version of this song. George actually wrote the song, and he played guitar and sang on Eric's version from the "Journeyman" album. I don't know when George recorded this version, but it wasn't released until the "Brainwashed" album came out posthumously in 2002. I like both versions. If I had to choose, I'd give a slight nod to Eric's version (it's hard to beat both of them singing and playing together).
