Thank you for breathing new life into this great work with the initial minimal and beautiful 8 ft sounds - the pleno really has a more dramatic effect when it comes in!

Thank you! I completely agree. For me, the beginning is so lyrical that a pleno hardly suits it. Besides, the 8-foot principal of this organ has always been hauntingly beautiful in my ears!

Thanks for that and special mention for the picture, makes me feel at home (my place being in the vicinity). Musically, the general mood reminds me of Percy Whitlock's Plymouth Suite, a composer I particularly like.

Canons are alike "Row, Row, Row Your Boat" with only two singers, the second one echoing back the first one. IT takes a very talented composer write them AND to play them!
