Horrible job just to replace those backplates! That poor E46 was well rusty, still we gotta save 'em if we can. Good video. Looking good, what thickness aluminium did you use? I made some ABS plastic ones at the weekend but they are a bit floppy so I may step it up to ali. Cheers

@@infamousaidy they’re 2mm but with the dimples in them they’re surprisingly ridged and went with the thought process to cut a little weight and I won’t actually be standing on them just to rest my heels on and also not to wear through the floor paint

@@e4tnu150 tbh I couldn’t tell you if the 2.5 pedals would work unfortunately but I kept my auto ecu, there is a little bit of wiring you need to do for the car to start and for the clocks to work but with a little searching online you found what wire to connect together ect

learnt something new today,,, mine is rwd so it is bit different, all goes to the drive axle vs trailing arm on yours, had to watch over and over again one part because I got stupid for a moment 😂😂😂

Does the door handle sit flush underneath ? I replaced one but the handle doesn't seem to be sitting flush only at the bottom and now the door ks temperamental with opening and not opening

Yes mate from memory, have a check of the opposite side to confirm how it should be 👍

1:17 Where's the rotor?? How did you get the rotor off with the calliper in place???? Were you driving around with no rear brakes? What's that all about?

The rota was removed before and the caliper put on so it wasn’t dangling

Please can you let me know why you would change to a 6 speed box? Motorway noise in final gear? Top speed?

I was done on a mates car and he uses it for drifting, I believe the 6th gear noise is ok when cruising and in redness for drifting rather than using second gear and being high in the revs but 3rd was to much and would grip up, he was happier with the conversion as the heating was better for drifting

It was done to a 1.6 and I’m not sure with the 1.8

You have to cut the reverse wiring plug off and swap the plug to the 6 speed reverse light wires

any hardware store, usually near the paint section or the masonry section.... Concrete etch and prep. make sure its just 100% phosphoric acid. wear eye and face protection and spray all that rust with it. converts it to iron phosphor and wont rust anymore. then spray it with some rustoleum paint.

Basic setup but it works I went all in fanatec spent crazy money dd1 Porsche wheel but I rather drive my Mazda MX-5 it's standard at the moment

Just after fitting ridge front and skirts with edge rear quarters/bumper. Those voids on the quarters I put fibreglass paste in there so when I tightened the fixings it didn't pull the panel in.

2:22 Those T-nuts are in upside down. The ball bearing should be facing the rail.
