Hi there! I am a fellow artist vendor! I am in that process of looking for affordable enamel pin manufacturers because I've never made any before (same situation as you in the video - I am hesitant to pay hundreds of dollars for something that might not sell), and I would love to know who your manufacturer is, as I feel like the quote they offered you is a fair starting price for me. :)

As someone who lives and tables in ATL, it low-key sucks for Artists overall at conventions here(even the big ones). I don't know what the cultural difference is, but I always advise anyone on the West Coast to avoid it as far as tabling(I have many big AA friends on the West). The profit margins are only viable for those that are local or southeast US. Sorry about your experience!

Great video! Coming from LA, this was also such an expensive show for me, and it was my lowest-performing show in years. think ill be skipping this one from now on.

Social media posts, $600 dollar table, con-exclusive merch, and a zoom call for this small of a turnout?????? That's atrocious, I've never seen a convention demand so much from their artists and then give back so little.

Business cards seem to be most useful when you have a physical store or shop. But business cards can still be useful when your business is online. It really just depends how you use them and the content that you include on your business card.

Hi Shooley! I am sorry to hear you didn’t have a great experience at DH ATL. You are right about the event not being catered to artists like comic cons and artist fairs etc. I myself was at the event in the BYOC LAN. We were allowed to bring in food after hours, when the event closed. However, the convention had a policy about outside food and drink. So the cracked down on it starting on the second day. But the water is so stupid. They were suppose to be water stations but they were water fountains by the restrooms. I feel like that was their way of saying, buy food from our vendors so we make more money. Plus it was expensive and awful. ATL isn’t their best event in the US. Dallas has always been the giant one. Also, Twitchcon just happened a few weeks before. That also didn’t help with attendance. I thought you had some very cute art and I loved it. I think you were the only one I purchased from the whole weekend as well. I do make it a priority to walk through and buy something. I hope if you ever decide to go to another Dreamhack, that it will be the much busier Dallas(if it’s not moved since the convention center is doing major construction). Take care Shooley!

I'm so grateful to meet you on Sunday! I was there for DnD stuff but I was so excited you would be there since I had been following you online for so long!!! 😭♥️ thanks for coming to Atlanta and I'm glad I got to purchase and support from you while you came this time! There are a good few ...events like this in Atlanta that has exactly this happen. A big money event, more expensive, yet they don't cater the event and skew the attendees for certain things, skipping over full areas and sections.. 😕 as an artist in ATL I'm luckier for it just being local but for out of state artists it makes it hard to return.. Lastly yes. this event has strict security, other events at the location are definitely not that strict but whoever they hire for security is definitely strict with foods and such.. Anyways , hope you could try attending events like Anime Weekend Atlanta or MOMOCON they both I think fit right up your alley with some insane foot traffic! 🫶

I dunno how the laws are in america, but in Canada you can't really legally prevent someone from bringing in water or snacks... We can even bring them into movie theatres now
@shepiyo17 күн бұрын
not allowing water should be a crime?? unless they provided water for all the attendees, that is such a strange rule
@thispapercloud16 күн бұрын
I just came out of Anime Impulse in CA and they were denying drinks and snacks too. Gave me crap for my Kind Bar in my purse and I had to fight back because my dietary restrictions pretty much guarantee I can’t eat their convention food.
@arthobbitworks79110 күн бұрын
I agree, not allowing water is ridicules and no I'm paying $6 for one too.
@centershotdoublezero203711 сағат бұрын
They want you to have to pay stupid high prices. It was $4 for a single bottle of water and $15 for a Papa John's personal pizza, not a full one, just a tiny, little 4 slice thing. It's absolutely a rip off

I very much enjoyed your review, I am sorry to hear that it did not go as well as it could have. I know the hurricane that was coming to the east coast could have impacted some of the conventions attendance. Wishing you all the success!

Love these videos! They’re so helpful. I’m hoping to start doing conventions this upcoming year. I started doing smaller local markets in July. I’m going to try to stay local to Texas to start, like what you do with the Seattle area.

I'm seriously thinking about getting a heat press and doing this right now. But its such an investment. I'm actually happy to see someone else who has to work on the floor and have no space LOL. I squish in a small room as well. My desk is also just a coffee table lol.

What does that compare to the cost of the products themselves? Like the net profit
@shooley26 күн бұрын
hmm I usually don't calculate the cost of goods sold per event so I actually don't know. For event costs I do consider transportation, table fees, any insurance fees, and I do a tally of the number I sold for each product.

Hiee! Absolutely loved watching the video, it was so relaxing haha The price highly depends on the design and number of colours used. I’ve gotten my pins manufactured at locally at as less as $1.56 (1.5 inch pins and 30 pieces)! I really wanted to see and explore cheaper options but I guess $1.56 is fine considering the quantity as well✨

I love how instead of arguing and making everything difficult you chose to respect the original artist and take it down, AND draw your own version so that we can still get the print. You’re an amazing role model and I think some people need to learn how to show respect.
