I produced quite a few of these commercials with Christy Turlington, Adriana Lima and Erin Wasson. The directors were incredible- Francis Lawrence, Stephane Sednaoui among them. The amazing Val Garland, Laura Mercier, Orbie, Serge Normand- as glam teams. We shot tons of "street scenes" with the talent- but as you see in the edits, it's mostly close ups on the lips/lashes/tubes and color bullets.

I love the glossy and shiny look back then, nowadays everything is brown, grey, tan, nude, invisible or non-colour like the modern architecture - all grey wood, grey and dark grey exteriors. I miss back then when there was actually colour in life.

I would totally wear the lipstick (nowadays) from Maybelline, but it smells so strong on my lips that it is hard to get through the day, without a headache. It is a very irritating, chemically smell in their lip products and my stomach starts cramping up. I loved the old ads and products so much though.

7:51 - How does all the hair curl the exact same direction as if crimped that way? The part where the hair hinges inward or "dents" looks like it was curled with one long curler or with curlers placed exactly the same direction across the head? I wonder..

What is the name of the rounded hairstyle at 7:50? It is the opposite of how everyone cuts their hair nowdays into those thin strands. Back then it was all rounded and circular, what is this called? How would one get achieve that cut/look?
