Karen was so awesome in this episode. A fantastic villainess. Loved watching Jeff fawn over her and her brushing him off. She also had her flunky doing everything she told him. She should have gotten away as she shot directly into that basket. Hated seeing Barnaby grab the gun away from her and then how she had to walk by the two when she was captured!

That part about finding the money not tender fr use was funny as Terry laughed. As Del Boy would call that ‘a 24 carat plonker’.

Great episode, I counted 5 Volkswagens including the convertible beetle Gertrude drove, a beetle a kombie a VW beach buggy and a fast back. Kinda cool that Plus we visited the Star of India on a trip to the U.S. 20 odd years ago ( it was seen near the end of the episode)

Katharine Justice was on so many of these 70s shows. What a knockout. Later in Married with Children she played Buds teacher slash girlfriend.

All cigarettes 40 cents. What are they priced at now, over 10 times that? Just checked. 20 times that in California. $8.00 a pack.

It’s hysterical to watch these shows, the 70s Hollywood concept of youth drug abuse or the music industry etc is so funny

*Uncovering the Mysterious Murder in Parker Junction:* every detective series has an episode where there's an investigator alone in a strange town - isolated - with fishy goings on! Danger AWAITS. We don't know from where, and when, who to trust - if anyone! Matlock was in a town like that. Don't remember others. There's a standalone film where a Supreme Court judge goes on a fishing holiday ... incognito ... and runs across trouble! * There was an episode of *Criminal Minds* too where one of team wanders into a remote shop and recognises guy in shop fits their profile .... *Bad Day at Blackrock* with Spencer Tracy (1955) is the first one I saw, and earliest in genre that I know of. It's a great film. .

I don't understand why finger prints are not found or even looked for in this series. There would have been some on the knife, the door knob and all over that office.

Why hello there!! 👋 I was like "HIGH SCHOOL?!" (When he first says it) and almost choked on my Panda Express...😆 It's no wonder when I actually got to high-school after watching TV in the 70's I felt like everyone looked shrimpy and so young. This episode SO feels like how I remember the 70's feeling tho so I recommend for anyone who wasn't there. Just slap on some Canoe or Love's Baby Soft, break out your Camel unfiltereds and enjoy!! 🤩

@@CamilleGG451Miss Camille!👋😀 "If you remember the '70s (or '60s), you weren't really there." I graduated in '82, but it was still really the '70s, except the cars were getting more boring!

@UberLummox Ah yes, true! 😆 Well I was '85 so I was more "there" than many adults 😄. (And I'd have to add: EVERYTHING started getting more boring in the 80's! (Well, unless you were a stockbroker.....🤔).

The man driving the tractor said he was being paid "Eight bucks an hour." In 1973, about the same year of this show, at my first job I was making $1.50 an hour working in a donut shop.

Have you noticed how Bette's and Barnaby's clothes don't clash? I mean when they are together in the office. At 40:18 is a good example. These shows are so worth watching. Crime, but nil or little blood. No swear words. Everyone has their clothes on. They support the thought of being careful what I do in life, and that crime does not pay.
