Where can I purchase the flat style tuning tool for my Max Osterode concert zither? Any ideas?
@ilseharris44344 күн бұрын
The zither tuning key is called "Stimm-schluessel" in German. Don't know in which country you live? You might have to buy online> In Germany there is #Wuensche Zither, or Thoman Music. Accessory in German is called Zubehoer, eg Zither Zubehoer. hope it helps. Ilse

Hallo Ilse! So toll! 😄 Vielen Dank und grettings from good old Germany.. 😂

Hallo Sabine, danke fuers Anschauen. Gruesse, Ilse

Hello dear Zithergirl, I have listened to your playing but please excuse me, I don't like your playing with this additional background noise at all, it has nothing to do with the typical sound of a zither. I also play the zither and also with amplification, but I play everything myself, including the accompaniment without “live to track”. A good accompaniment includes additional basses which you can hear in my “Estermann Ländler” where I play the appropriate alternating basses with the Superklang playing aid and the right little finger. That's just a small comment, otherwise I admire your enthusiasm with your numerous videos.

Hi Klemens, thanks for looking at my videos and I looked at your superior SOLO zither playing. I play with play along CDs but it is still my own music.I recorded and published albums with zither duets and Folksongs together with a girlfriend, both of us playing ZITHER, the play along Cds were produced at Proffi Studios(run by my sons).I also published the only English language teaching book.My aim was always to help people who don't speak German, live in countries where there are no zither teachers or players, to help BEGINNERS; my website is also a HELP page.
@klemensholzer16964 ай бұрын

"Guitar thumb pick", not "ring".
@zithergirl4 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching my video.It was made 12 years ago in my sons garage on a shoestring budget, to help people who don't speak German and live in countries where there are no zither players/teachers, like here in Australia. I know I showed a guitar pick just to start people off, in case they obtained a zither with no accessories. The thumb pick will give you an idea, but I could not play a whole piece with it. The zither is an instrument played mostly in Germany/Austria/Switzerland, so accessories are mostly sold only over there. Ourdays people are more likely to google or buy online, but knowing the correct name of what you want saves time and confusion. Therefore the zither is not played with a guitar pick.The correct German name is Zither Ring. Other translations for you :Zither accessories = Zither Zubehoer; zither string is Zither Saite, Zither pins = Stimm wirbel . Griffbrett/fret board; Mensur = length of fret board; stimmen = tuning, Tuner = Stimmgeraet, Tuning Fork = Stimmgabel, Tuning Key =Stimmschluessel. Cheers - zithergirl🙃down under

@@zithergirl I live in England, although I was originally born and bred in Rome, Italy. I have been playing guitar for 45 years, most of them professionally, and I also play bass and a plethora of exotic stringed instruments (oud, bouzouki, Arab-Andalus mandole, sitar, banjo: I have a strong lifelong interest in Arabic, Indian and African music). The zither is such a beautiful instrument, but learning to play it seems a daunting task, with all the coordination between the fingers. Moreover, I have three small children, and the time to even practice my own instruments is so very limited. I followed your channel for quite a long time, just as an appreciator of zither music. I just love all your videos, performances and tutorials alike. They bring me an enormous degree of pleasure, and for a little bit make me forget the outside world. Keep up the excellent work, Ilse, I love it! What about you, which part of Germany (or Austria) do you come from, and how long have you been living in Australia for?
