Regoin locking is something which i hate, i don't have any old pal games, since im playing on 60hrtz machines...

Hey, I've noticed that some of the Mega Drive games released after 1993 are region locked, and some aren't. Fatal Fury (1993) - Both PAL and NTSC-U versions work in all regions. King Of The Monsters (1993) - All three versions work in all regions. Fatal Fury 2 (1994) - NTSC-U works in all regions. King Of The Monsters 2 (1994) - NTSC-U works in all regions. Art of Fighting (1993) - NTSC-U won't play in PAL, and PAL won't play in NTSC-U. Samurai Shodown (1993) - NTSC-U won't play in PAL. World Heroes (1994) - NTSC-U won't play in PAL. However, NTSC-J plays fine in NTSC-U. MK3 and UMK3 (1995, 96) - PAL won't play in NTSC-U. NTSC-U plays in NTSC-J, but the game plays much faster than normal. Ultraman (1993) - NTSC-J plays in all regions. Rise Of The Robots (1994) - PAL works, but plays slower in NTSC-U. Bare Knuckle III (1994) - NTSC-J won't play in NTSC-U. However, it will work in PAL, but the game plays much slower. Beast Warriors (1991) - Both NTSC-J and NTSC-U play in all regions. However, when playing NTSC-J outside of Japan, the game plays much slower.

Is there a way to play japanese games on a pal n64? I just bought kirby 64 and it wont play because of the chip
@thoughtfulalien98662 ай бұрын
The N64's region locking is similar to the SNES differently shaped cartridges that don't fit in consoles from other regions and PAL consoles have lockout chips. Your best bet may be to find an adaptor for the N64 which allows you to play games on the console regardless of the region. I don't know how easy it is to find one of these adaptors though.
@ItsAubreeyy2 ай бұрын
@ i've tried, they either cost a buttload of money AND are also sold out or there is no information on them anywhere. At this point i feel like it would just be easier to buy a japanese n64

There’s this game I wanna play on the Nintendo 3DS which is Teddy Together, but I’m from North America, and it was never released in North America, so I can’t play that game on my new Nintendo 3DS XL!

Well it's better to want a game that's region exclusive rather than be stuck with a region exclusive game.

Amazing video! Simple and straight to the point with lots of information! As for my opinion on region locking, it’s stupid. Where there is a Will there is a way. If someone want’s something they are going to get it. All they did was make us open up our consoles and do work we really shouldn’t have to in the first place

A little bit of a side fact, all Nintendo Switch systems are games are region free EXCEPT for systems and games sols in mainland China. China recently lifted the ban on video games (though the authoritian country has a habit of flip flopping laws) and got Tencent to work wirh Nintendo to bring the Switch to China. The Mainland Chinese Nintendo switch is unsurprisingly region locked, it can only play Chinese copies of physical copies, and possibly no way to put foreign nintendo accounts on it.

Wrong, x360 is 70% region free only some games are locked in some regions (for eg sometimes a game works in EU and Japan but not US or US and EU but not Japan) basically the same as mega drive
@WantBadtime Жыл бұрын
I can prove that this is true. I have 2 PAL games and a NA NTSC Xbox 360 E, and both games ran perfectly fine with no issues. The games I used was a PAL Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition and a PAL Sims 3.
@suntannedduck2388 Жыл бұрын
Very good dive into this. Like the art direction you got going on. I love finding small channels. :) I have a Borderlands 1 NTSC copy (was in my region when I bought it not traveling overseas to get it so that was lucky I swear few 360/PS3 end up this way because people trade in games and I just ended up with different copies in bargain bins besides whatever people say about PS3/360 region locking or free) and used it on my Xbox 360 Elite that's an AU system no problem so I don't think all games are region locked similar to the OG Xbox I guess with select few games that may be however many in the library and whichever Devs and publishers felt the need to while PS3 clearly Sony noticed people wanted region free consoles I think more I remember hearing something that players wanted it more somewhere no idea of that's true besides that well digital was more the focus over time to put security measures and DRM and so on. It's a stock system my 360 too, no hacks or mods or anything. I do remember some Xbox OG games being region free like the other commenter said but I forgot which games or what sources but I remember some things around Halo 2 and a few other games surrounding regions locking or not but I don't remember the details. Region locking I assume goes digital more these days. While customers can make regional accounts the games are still strictly for regions anyway so I guess that counts somewhat.... I don't know. Either way with whatever profiles we have access to it's nice but for the 3DS/Wii U games being tied to the consoles not the profiles it does make things awkward for sure as profiles is easier and better then well a system dies and can't do anything about that to move the console/game data transferred correctly to be the same across a new system then grrr Nintendo. Otherwise not surprised not all fifth gen consoles or others are listed but I assume with CDs many were region locked with whatever security on the disks as well. Handhelds it's always interesting how they are region free though. For Japanese only handhelds and consoles I do wonder though.... Hmmmm. Otherwise most of these seem to be similar information to what I know so that's good. Using a Borderlands 1 360 on an AU Xbox One was interesting to see how it detects on the Xbox One Store. Region specific elements may apply with the writing and localisation of course but yeah region locking games does seem pointless with the move to digital but then again it's something the movie industry and tv series won't change for understandable reasons of having an established region encoding and of course software that tries to break past these methods to rip the contents it makes sense why they still use these even with streaming services. Whatever the case with music and digital books no idea but digital library services suck being even if a not existence object works the same as the real world making it kind of a hassle and to just get the book physical to reserve or just ebook it then ebook through the library. But the book industry or research paper side of things were always picky about ownership anyway (even though no one cases to buy their papers (only a small subsection though) for research anyway because it's a hindrance or unless they really need to for their particular research but for quick stuff usually no way do people bother even if yes they have the credit and effort put into it I still think it's annoying and references will be credited anyway but it's always been a fight for who has a paper and the normalised theory of things anyway so not surprised). Still fan translations step in for their side of things I guess games, shows or books.

The PAL PS1 is not region locked. I do have a few Japanese Games and they play fine.(Ridge Racer and a few others) The only thing is that the Japanese games are only displayed in Black & White. The OG Xbox is technically region free. It depends on the developer if they want region locking. My US Copy of CSI works fine on my none modded console.

Also maybe the sound pikmin could arleadly have the ability to sneak around as their sound abilities make them invisible. If you throw them at a enemy that enemy will be distracted. They can still br killed by crushing. The only way to get more of them is by finding green flowers to turn your pikmin to sound pikmin
@cosmofate99602 жыл бұрын
Maybe for sound pikmin they could act more pf a distraction to enemies when you are trying to transport stuff. They could stun by emitting sound waves. They could be fast but be very weak when it comes to fighting like winged pikmin. They could be tge only pikmin that cant get eaten if a monster eats one they split them out because they are disgusting to eat. Another idea is they could be used in puzzles involving yellow pikmin maybe something like the boss battle in pikmin 3 where you have to turn on the lights. Yellow pikmin and sound pikmin what make the first combo duo
