The three tory boys always looked down on the poors who buy Toyota because the poor dont have thousands and thousands of pounds to keep a car running just to go to work. The tory boys don't need to think about money.

I have owned and driven various Toyotas. The lack of repair bills very exciting and my current 2006 Avensis is called Elspeth.

Fascinating to see bits of Luton from back then, its basically unrecognisable now, I would of been 4 years old then.

I wouldn't have associated the Toyota Corolla with Adam and the Ants and I am sure they wouldn't be thrilled by it. Jezza putting in some mild snipes here but nothing like what he would have in more recent years.....old Top Gear used to play nice...usually.

Yea commenter on here a few of the old corrollas are still smoking around and their not worth much tho in uk about £500 for a good one...spares are rare now

Of course it handled well: Toyota was using Chris Amon to do their suspension tuning/development back then. A nice retirement gig for the former Formula 1 driver.

I had a Corolla, next generation. Once got me from Brighton to Dover in one hour. Averaged just under 100mph. Never let me down, never liked it.

Brilliant car. I have a 1994, hatch, 1.8, 7A-FE, 5 speed. Just maintain as per schedule and drive. Automotive engineering at its best.

745Nm of torque, that is still a huge figure even today, 32 years ago it was out of this world. I love the fact it still wears all is thermocouples from testing.

Two years ago I bought a 2005 Corolla. It felt as tight as a new car and it just felt so solid. It was as quiet as a church mouse and as reliable as time. Comfortable too. Was it sporty? Not really but that was good because it made me just want to cruise. It's not and exciter, it's a relaxer. Great car!

The first car i bought in my life is a corolla. Trading it in for a rav4 this month. Mininum service payment and everything works all the time. Once i hit the jackpot i will be buying a lexus haha.

Yeah, driving a rental Camry from New York to Memphis was the most boring driving experience I have ever had. It’s just a brown bag with wheels. Definitely not a car for people who like to drive. It got me there, safely, but I would never do that again. Life is too short
