Hi, the plastic trim panel has a torx 20 screw that needs removing, the panel is quite tight and the clip is recessed in to the trim panel if you give the trim a firm pull it will come off the trim panel is pretty robust. You may want to use a plastic trim tool to aid removal this usually helps when plastic trim panels are difficult to remove as you can gently pry it lose first. This is great advice checking the EGR and pipe to the intercooler is a key area for oil leaking and the Tandem Pump directly above this pipe with oil and of course diesel leaks prematurely damaging the pipe. In my case VW took responsibility as when they observed the pipe they provided and offered it to the replacement they supplied the pipe was clearly made out of a more inferior material which caused my failure 6 months after installing. The new VW pipe has been fine so far so and im checking it regularly for any issues. Thank you for your comment on this as there are many reasons why this pipe fails usually external factors - Oil - Diesel - Anti-freeze ❤

Hi!I would advise you to check any possible oil leak which can reach the hose,oil/diesel+heat is killing the hose,not heat alone. I replaced also the engine oil cap(where you pour the oil in the engine) and replaced the 90° intercooler hose which goes inside the EGR valve because didn't closed completely anymore and was leaking oil from EGR. OIL is killing the hose,not heat alone.

I'm glad the video has helped im guessing most Audi A4 of thos age group are suffering common problems such as this, the other was my Tandem pump which is above this pipe a few weeks after there was a diesel leak from the Tandem pump so i bought a seal kit and replaced them its clean and dry now from antifreeze and diesel so my A4 is happy again, good luck with yours its a rewarding job and reassuring especially on longer journeys knowing these issues are fixed

Hi and thanks for commenting and the compliment on the clean engine bay ive owned for 11 years this year and was on 52k miles when i bought now 151k but i always wipe the engine down every wash and its never been pressure washed. The pipe is genuine and is holding up so far - i have recently replaced all gaskets within the Tandem Pump as it had a small diesel leak - Tandem Pump are very common at high mileage and age to develop leaks but its a very DIY do it your self job and quite enjoyable to do kits on ebay are very reasonable.

Mine isnt working.. the electrician says the instument needs to be sent off. My car has very low mileage and im concerned the mileage will be lost when its recoded. They say it will cost £500... how do i fix this cheaply?

Actronics are very resonable though they do require a garage to organise sending it to them - they might repair if you went to them but call them and see what they can suggest - Edd China used Actronics in one of his videos quite recently have a watch

The top filter wants to bind up on the entry port during install. You have to push the top of the filter in for it to feed without binding. Clearly, BMW doesn't want their vehicles to be worked on by owners. The cabin air filter swap in my 2018 Infiniti Q60 takes 10 minutes and no tools.

My personal view and experience of this set up is it's a good balance I would say perfect if this is your daily driver as the look is fantastic its 5mm lower than a standard A4 B6 Sport and the difference between the SE suspension tyres and ride height is incomparable the SE was like a ship at sea where this Koni STR H&R combo is what my Golf GTI handled that was the same set up but had the adjustable yellow Konis. A lot of people have had a noticeable difference with just the H & R lowering springs mind if you're on a more tight budget.

Thank you for commenting - Your choosing excellent quality springs with Eibach springs - I find the ride quality still acceptable obviously it's not a big fluffy mattress anymore but equally its not a Nurburgring bone shaker - i hope you find it's the perfect balance also - please update when its completed be great to hear your views

Don't need to fiddle with the pins. You can get under the hard plastic ring opposed to the rubber band with a screw driver and pry it off. Then you can put the new ring on the cap with bare hands, no tools needed. Start putting it on by inserting the ring in the groove with the side with the band, as it is more stiff, and push on the other side with your fingers. 15 seconds of work.

This video is to replace the strap from the orginal cap as they rot off. So i replaced just the strap using a Febi replacement cap and strap as i wanted to keep my orginal audi cap and a new one was over £40 from Audi at the time, but yes if replacing the entire cap and strap you do not need to press out the 2 pins on the strap.

Thanks for the guide! Wouldn't have found it otherwise, Peugeot Service box guides are totally useless. Only Peugeot can put a pollen filter housing in such an awkward position to reach.

Yes you would if both were blocked fortunate that it was only the 1 under the battery the other is beneath the servo UK RHD model shown, the water will get in everywhere if the plenum chamber is full od water though and will flood the floors destroy the CCM central control module that controls the electric windows heaters etc etc in short it can cause nightmare problems.

Wow this is an amazing simple diy with such an upgrade in look. Since the window lock button wiring doesn't work... I assume you have to make sure the safety lock is off when you do the swap. So that passengers can still use the windows.

Hi and thank you for your comment My original lock switch actually fell apart, however this didn't affect the rear windows. Also on installing the upgraded switches from the sline B8 audi a4 again this didn't affe t the rear windows and so the rear windows operate perfectly. That said if your original switch is working correctly I'd make sure its switched to allow the rear windows to operate normally before disconnecting the switch. Glad you enjoyed the video! Its a very cool modification and my whole family love the audi a4 B8 sline switches Have a great day

Thanks. For me it was even more dangerous if you can believe it. I have an estate and the struts always make noise. One fine day the right one just pops right off, crashing the tailgate. The strut piston barely missed the window. The joint has been rusty but i never imagined the pins to be so weak that the socket slips off the ball bearing.

There is a plastic cover underneath the glove box that looks like it doesn’t come down. Not sure it’s removed or not but it’s blocking the door. Does it have to be removed or does it pull down? US model.

Yes glovebox cover needs to be removed in LH drive cars.

On a left-hand drive - rest of the world, the cabin air filter location is the same, but on the passenger side. In other words, it is always located on the right hand side of the transmission tunnel. These instructions are the same, and valid for left-hand drive vehicles. Thank you for the video!

one of my pins unintentional popped all the way out, any suggestions how to get it back in ? So far I have tried supporting it with blue tack to help line it up and press in with a larger flat surface but can't get it started in the hole, can only think to file one end slightly so it has a taper to get started but not tried yet........how did you get yours in that came all the way out ?

Got thus problem in a 2017 A3 hatchback although the layout is a bit different I'm thinking the cause is the same as is has had to be parked in a vert leafy area for long periods of time.

Thank you so much! The Audi A4 B9 has this same issue the strap literally dissolves and for a 30K+ car you’d expect it to be stronger. I got an aftermarket from AliExpress and does the job. Hard plastic like the pins too so not rubber which melts with summer heat and the fuel. Thank you so much anyway and the diagram drawing ✍️ was perfect 👍🏽 Appreciate it!

Those plastic pins are precious. Finding replacements is really like finding a needle in a haystack.

Yes, its definitely something to keep in mind whilst doing this, they start off very tight and then pop out without warning If you did lose them I'd probably fashion some new pins from an old piece of scrap plastic, you could melt it in with a soldering iron if needed and if you needed to replace the strap in the future just drill it out with a very fine drill bit. If you haven't seen the video of someone using electrical heat shrink to repair the strap its worth a watch and you dont need to press the pins out to do it, its a good quick repair Thanks for the comment!

Hi its a B6 A4 2003 Audi didn't have anything even with the strap code. They did have the fuel cap and strap together. I bought a febi cap and strap for around £10 took the strap off and fitted it to my original audi cap this worked perfectly part no. febi 27288 The febi caps fit numurous vw and audi vehicles. Of course the febi cap ive kept as a spare in case my audi cap needs replacing in the future. The febi cap strap is very good quality too and my cap is safe from falling off at the fuel station
