Awesome and very smart amp choice. Playing this with a Klon is another great idea. I had this pedal for a while before I sold it, not because I didn’t like it, I actually loved it but I sold it to buy more pedals lol. Great demo! Love Bogner Amps especially the Ectasy, the Shiva and Goldfinger.

Signa Drive on the bucket list. With COVID19 around that list may become rather pressing. Awesome demo, but I am a hardcore Maxon AD-9 Pro devotee. I do use the Supa Puss fr longer delays & subdivisions etc. You have a point tho - I'd take that Deeeeeeeelay over an Aqua.

Absolute fabulous 80's tone. Hold on to it another 30 years and it'll probably be the rage again. Maybe not, I'm looking for an amp that works for an es335 style guitar, that Mickie Mouse ears thing rock'n roll was founded on but died in the hands of 10,000 players when Hendrix took the stage at Monterey summer 1967.

Nice nice nice, the throbaks sound great. I was looking at the Victoria bassman, got a collector's choice #43 les paul and I think the bassman sound is really just great with the good les pauls.

I would recommend spraying some of the lubricant on the saddles as well, the strings can ping there too and cause tuning problems. I do this on my Strat and Les Paul to help and neither goes out of tune for a very long time

Minus 10db can be very loud. Keep in mind that a pre Rola Celestion G12-H can deliver 100db with only 1W. And it seems that this minus 10db comes along with a big loss of treble.

The wrap around helps a bit by decreasing the strings angle of attack on the bridge. Just like the excessive 17° headstock angle is a bit of an issue on Les Pauls so can the bridge be.

Do NOT buy Tri-Flow in the applicator pen packaging. I bought one from Amazon and when it arrived all I got was the card. The pen was nowhere to be found. Amazon sent a 2nd one and the applicator pen was completely empty upon arrival. Amazon has sent me a 3rd one that has not yet arrived. I also contacted Tri-Flow and told them about the problem and they are sending me one too.
@mrcali687 жыл бұрын
Agree!! You can just get a few drops of tri flow out of a squeeze tube and use a toothpick!

I have to get this thing out gigging again. With Bob Sweet's passing and the fact that this pedal hadn't been on the market that long, I've been a bit protective (maybe overly so) of my Pro Bender. I would be surprised if there were more than 100 of these made (Mine is #21 if I remember correctly). I got it from Analog Mike, who was technically a dealer of Bob's pedals at the time. Since he was closer to me and local, I simply drove down to his shop since it was quicker than waiting for the mailman. I don't know how long Mike had the Pro Bender sitting on his shelf, but I doubt it was more than a year. I think that series of fuzzes was fairly-new back in 2007, although the Pro Bender was surely the least known of the bunch. Either way, there can't be that many Pro Benders out there, so I try to protect mine, although I don't ever plan on selling it. They're totally-unobtainable nowadays. At this point, it's easier to find a D.A.M. MkII with OC81D's than it is to find a Pro Bender. The PB is a great MkII clone for sure. It's fussy and unruly like the originals, but it has that midrangey MkII sound in spades. I still want to buy a Throbak Stone Bender, since I already own two Throbak pedals and love them both. My bet is that the Stone Bender is better than most MkII clones when it comes to a live band setting and I bet it really cuts through a mix extremely-well compared to most other MkII clones. That's the rub. The Pro Bender is more like a super-faithful replica of the MkII circuit. A very-accurate rendering of that sound, but it has the same sonic issues as the originals did. But the Throbak line of pedals seem to be aimed towards people who want a stage-friendly version of said classic tones. They cut through a live mix really-well, they aren't picky about amps or certain guitars/pickups/etc. The Sweet Sound pedals (at least the Pro Bender) seem more like the offerings from companies like Analog Man and Pro Analog. In other words, you get the meat AND the veggies. For example, my Sunface is as authentic as it gets. Nails the Arbiter FF sound to a T. But my Throbak Fuzz Haze is WAY-more-stage-friendly and cuts through a live mix better, which is why I want a Stone Bender as well as a Strange Master. I love the Throbak stuff. Still, the Sweet Sound Pro Bender is a series slice of '60's fuzz heaven. You just can't expect to run it off a Mesa Triple Rectifier and an Ibanez 7-string and expect early Beck & Zeppelin tones (The Stone Bender? ... Maybe, although I've never tried).
