a Motormeter cluster can slo accept a VDO speedometer. The VDO speedometer is almost identical to motormeter.

Very nicely done video. Thanks for the help! After 39 years and 189,999 miles, my 318i's odometer suddenly stopped (I guess rolling over to 190,000 was a bit too difficult for those old gears). Your instructions will make the repair a lot easier...

can use a hemostat, needle driver, locking needle nose to hold long shaft for last/ tiny gear vs. disassemble motor cover. screws for speedo are phillips and 5.5 mm....first time I've used that 5.5 socket!

+1 on using gloves when working with cluster as any amount of oil from skin could contaminate the circuit board.

Took me a few minutes to realize that the green connector was holding the speedometer in place and had to be removed before the speedometer would come out. I think you skipped that step in the video? Otherwise very helpful video. Thanks!
