Growing up in Mass I remember this day and was just talking about it recently. Running into a burning building when everyone is running out there’s nothing to compare that too. I had FF training in the navy but couldn’t imagine the real thing. All the respect to all FF

I wouldn't have wanted to make the call to suspend trying to find the six missing. I remember hearing about that fire. Broke my heart hearing about it. May those six brave men rest in peace. May God continue to watch over their families and their fellow firefighter brothers.

I remember my teacher explaining this to me and my classmates when I was 9 years old in the fourth grade. I thought this happened in Boston but I did not know about cities and towns back then.

I was 12. It was a Friday night. I went with my family to see Toy Story 2 at white city cinema in Shrewsbury. Got home to my house in Grafton and my grandfather who was southbridge fire called saying it’s hell. My dad was a pharmacist at St V’s…….it was brutal. Here I am at 37. 9 year US Navy submarine veteran and a current cop of 7 years in the Chicago area where my wife is from. I carry my Grafton police and Fire patch in my pocket. I’ll never not forget this hellish day.

From Worcester here and when I was 15 years old I got in trouble when it comes to fire and had to do fire prevention classes in the city in 2009. One of our assignments was to visit a fire department and learn a little bit about fire fighters and what they do for a living, my father took me. It was Webster Square Station, we just showed up and the firefighters couldn’t have been more cool and inviting and just open to answer any questions and show us around. It made me look at firefighters in a completely different light. That day was a good day that I hold close to my heart

Every year I watch this. Send it to my wife and family. And every year I'm blown away at how the city of Worcester honors these guys with a living memorial of an active living breathing station at this site. We all know it's the best job in the world when we walk in the station in the morning. We wish everyone else could feel what we feel and if God forbid something happens to us, we want the guys to keep rolling out. Good on this city. And good on Mr leary.

I was stationed in the United States Air Force with Paul Brotherton, and we were barracks mates and he was one of the funnest guys and one of the most genuine friends that I had while in the military! I found out about this, I think in 2016 and my heart was broken. I was trying to get a hold of him through the Internet or Facebook and was so sad to see that this had happened to him! I thought about him much over the years before the incident, and now after it, especially seeing the great sacrifice that he made for public safety! And I'm so proud that his sons followed in his steps! I have a picture of me and him sitting on top of the backseat of another friends red Camaro at Moody Air Force Base in South Georgia, where we were stationed. And it really brings back great memories! God bless to all those involved in this horrible tragedy and their families!❤

I remember seeing this fire when I was 8 y/o. We drove past it on the highway that’s right next to it, and it was really shocking to see. Massive flames. I’m pretty sure I could feel the heat of the fire from inside the car. One of the firefighters was a family member of one of my neighborhood friends, but I don’t recall how they were related-maybe his uncle?

I'm from a couple towns south of Worcester, so like 10minutes away off 290/146. My mom worked in Worcester, went to assumption, passed that building so many times with her a week.

I serviced the generator at this fire station this morning. I drove by on 290 while this was taking place in 1999 with my father. It was a heavy moment when I finished up work and went over to the memorial for a moment

I was almost 6 living in Worcester when this happened. I remember waking up and seeing smoke billowing outside when I looked out the window. My mom volunteered and made ham and cheese sandwiches for the firefighters. I believe there was a memorial/parade after with bagpipes?

I remember passing that building on our way to the Worcester Centrum. Shortly after the fire my friends and I went to the Centrum to see WWF. There were firefighters outside the building with fire boots collecting donations. I gave them what I could.

The fire was the top news story for days afterward in Springfield, MA. I used to drive by the building on I-290 on the way to shop at Spag's in Shrewsbury often. That white hot 3000+ degreee fire is not uncommon in a heavily insulated structure. Water from firefighters hoses evaporates before it can douse the flames.

Jerry Lucy. One of the nicest guys I ever met. I worked for Pepsi Cola, he worked for Coca Cola our routes overlapped in the Holden/ West Boylston area. I'd see him a few times a week either stocking Markets, at a Honey Farms or just driving by and waving. I knew Jerry as a Coca-Cola guy for about 2 years, then some new guy had that Coca-Cola route and that was that. We also delivered once in a while to the Grove St. fire station (20-30 cases for their machine). One day we jump back in the truck after delivering to Grove St. and who jumps up on the step up to the cab to say hello ... Jerry (complete with a Fireman's mustache, lol.) He was a new recruit and was training there. That's the last time I saw him. I still remember things he talked about when we'd be stocking shelves at an IGA or an Iandoli's (Shaws). His lady was a hairdresser, she worked at Mr. C's in Webster Square and he loved her dearly... and a few other things, but those are for me.
