Iam sitting here engulfed in tears listening to this. I have known this symphony for 45 years, having first eared it on Easter Sunday in Carnegie Hall. It was a transcendent experience. My favorites are the viscerally exciting Leonard Bernstein, Seiji Ozjawa, Gustavo Dudamel and Maris Jansons’ ecstatic performance

As long Finale time user I installed Dorico and Musescore. For me Dorico is VERY hard to learn. Muse is more logical if you come from Finale. Just in one day on Muse I could do what I was struggling for a week in Dorico.

Sounds awesome indeed! I believe that the more instruments the score has the better the playback sound gets. That's because in the large tuttis it's way easier for the small glitches and inconsistencies to get obscured thanks to the loudness of the instruments. At least that's way easier in them than in any instrumental solo piece.

Hey I had a question you seem to know the answer to How do you change the playback audio of MuseScore instruments so that it doesn’t just sound awful? I’m sure you know how terrible the saxophones are
@MrMayAllDay11 күн бұрын
@@goosehonk6715 😆 I understand. Well, it should all be found in the “Mixer” tab (found at the top center of the page when looking at your score). Unfortunately, saxophones are probably some of the worst of the “Muse Sounds”. They just have not been a focus of the updates. So, with saxophones, there is not much to do but leave them a little quiet and crank the reverb to wash them out.
@goosehonk671511 күн бұрын
@@MrMayAllDay Oh when i said change the playback audio, I meant as in to put in your own custom sounds for the instrument. Do you know of a way to do this because I know its possible
@MrMayAllDay11 күн бұрын
@@goosehonk6715 Two possibilities: 1) The Muse Hub has been adding a handful of new instrument libraries to download. Perhaps one of them includes a better saxophone. 2) If you have SFZ type files, I think they can be placed in one of the MuseScore file folders and add to your library. Not too sure beyond that. If you play saxophone and can record the part-maybe export your score (BUT TURN DOWN THE SAX VOLUME) and just record saxophone parts live and mix it in Audacity or another mixing program. That is all I can think. Sorry if I don’t have the info you need!
