40:35 After 6 years of getting hearing aids That was after 2 hearing aids 1 pair every3 years a part. That was because they was not programming was not done right. On the 3rd time I got Audiologist that did it right. I got the AI Genesis 24 and had the in ear program done. I felt like I was hearing has good has I did 20 years ago.😊

Compared to all the hype and all the money they spent to do this work, it's quite disappointing. The app is poorly designed. There are three+ separate screens to get to adjustments. Left right volume is on one page. Sound on another page etc. Sloppy app. A lot of the time the technology is not working and I can hear much better without them. Tinny sound. Hollow sound. The wind improvement is fictional. I'm stuck trying to have a conversation with someone and I'm fiddling with menus trying to figure out how to hear them. When I'm using my hearing aid put everything I need on one screen. It fits. You can only load three extra programs. They don't trust you to use the programs. You have to copy the programs load three more copy the programs load three more Copy the programs load three more. You can't do much in the programs. Again they don't trust you but on the other hand the audiologist isn't really ready to do this either. All this technology and you can't use it. The equalizer is so minimal. They need at least five levels. It's useful in its very limited capacity but it's very obvious that for a particular person or situation the equalizer can eliminate the problem sound. Problem sounds very quite a bit and simple medium high low is not adequate. This is another sign they don't trust you with your own hearing. They could always put a button that says quickly go back to default if they don't trust us to make adjustments to our sound. All that work. $5000. And your poor software interface makes it very difficult to use. The TV accessory keeps turning off. When I'm watching TV I'm watching TV. But with modern streaming every time the video ends they turn it off again. I own a software company. You need to carefully watch every process and not do it in a lab. Real humans really using the product and listen. Don't talk. Don't teach. Listen to the users. This is not a good device until they fix the interface. You can do as well with a pair of AirPods.

You have to turn off your cell phone Bluetooth before you can do this pairing. You can turn it back on after.

I absolutely do not like the Genesis tiered software system. We have four genesis to choose from the best being over seven or $8000 so if you wanna hear with the best hearing aids and software, you’re gonna pay out your ass or you can get the cheaper versions that you can afford and have poor hearing from the same company

the Starkey recharger is a piece of junk I have ordered an extra and it is no different even brand new.....they are SO HARD to get a contact to charge. Very frustrating issue ....we got a pair or battery operated for the many days the charger is just not in the mood to contact.

This video is extremely helpful, had been referred from Nadia Abbott, I have two children who have this issue however they had glue ear when they were younger and had grommets which fell out quite a few years ago. Only yesterday we found that my daughter has excellent hearing but still has muffled hearing…APD is a thing! I beltyou are onto something really big and god knows how many kids are struggling at school…my daughter is 15 now and has deep understanding of how this has impacted her life so far who was diagnosed with glue ear much later than her younger brother…would love to share her experience and so would she! Love to help in any way! This needs to be understood by schools in the UK and we are going to be taking this to school…any resources would be extremely grateful if you could share so that I am able to share with schools.

Dave, I appreciate this conversation with Justin. His life’s struggle with hearing was so overwhelming, it brought me to tears. I have been watching you for the last month in half talking with various employees and others on your pod cast. I am so excited to be getting these new Starkey Genesis AI, ITC - R, Bluetooth HA's next week. I am an old Veteran who received my first pair of HA’s from VA that were Starkey’s over the ear with replaceable batteries and plastic rubberize domes. I have had two other brands over the years. Had a hearing test last month, VA doctor recommended these, so have spent a lot of time looking for information on the web. My hearing story is very mild and came later in life than Justin’s. I have been so hyped up hearing about his use of the new Starkey Genesis AI eliminating some of the similar problem he and I have and how the new SHA's have helped. Just could not communicate with my family aka wife & friends and was feeling left out and did not like turning my head sideways to try and hear. Thank you Starkey.

I have had Starkey hearing aids for the last five years. Yesterday I got my new Genesis AL CIC hearing aids. WHAT A DIFFERENCE. These are as close to normal hearing as can be. In a loud restaurant yesterday, and the crowd option works fantastic. I felt like I was just with my group at the table. Still a battery user though.

My 29-year-old son was diagnosed with APD at 5 years old. Had his first hearing test at 1 year. We did every therapy imaginable: Fastforword and other auditory training, music therapy, balance therapy, hearing aids, and Lindamood Bell. We spent in excess of $100,000 which included 4 years at a special school. LMB was a disaster and very expensive - they took my $15,000 and didn't have a clue. We used other strategies as well: visual aids, recorder, a special recording pen, note takers and the list goes on. While I think he has improved, I believe he would have improved as he gained experience as an adult. While he did fine in college, he ended up leaving due to the huge effort it took to absorb information. Social situations still exhaust him. It takes so much effort to listen and process, especially in noise. The anxiety that results from such an effort is crippling. Here's the sad part, if you didn't know him, you would never guess he struggles every single day to navigate other people. Keep in mind that not all APD individuals are the same. My son is an excellent speller and reader, but he processes slowly, struggles with comprehension and has great difficulty with expressive language.

what i do not understand is, is it continually scanning the environment and adjusting? or is it sampling and adjusting only when you go back into edge mode in the app to have it resample.

The fall sensitivity needs adjustment, I’m seating nuts and the sensetiity sounds off.

What if one hearing aid, (the left in my case) has seemed to have lost it's name, and will no longer pair with the Thrive app? The right device shows the correct name, but the left shows up as a string of diamond shapes with question marks? I can make the phone pair with either, or both of the devices through settings, then Bluetooth options on the phone. Again, it's showing up as question marks again. But, pairing with the Thrive app doesn't happen, because of the missing/invalid name. I use PatientBase and Inspire to program/itr the devices using TeleHear, but since one device isn't paired, TeleHear will not open. The idff device is operational otherwise, and talks to the right device, because the left device controls volume for both devices. The right rocker switch controls tinnitus volume on the right device. If I could simply have an audiologist reset the devices to factory default using the correct programming boot, I can reload the hearing profile myself.

Will they be able to add Bluetooth Auracast to the Genesis AI line?

I am trying out the Starkey Genesis AI 24. These are great with the exception of the bluetooth. I have a Phonak in ear and they are not so great but the bluetooth is far superior than the Genesis. Why can Starkey make a hearing aid that in my opinion is great but the bluetooth is not?
