Bloody Mary and good old Henry. The worlds largest problems are British and Belgian. Spanish Portuguese French German Hungarian etc etc etc. Truth. Islam is somewhere in the mix. Oh! Blame it on the jews.

This series has been a delightful way to revisit history. I’ve enjoyed every minute of it! I feel as if I now see these characters as real people, not just as facts from history. Thanks so much for making this series available.

To bad episodes like that will not be used at schools...makes History well worth listen to.

A very amusing retelling of History, but let’s not forget that it was Spain, not Great Britain, the first country to be said that the Sun never set in its dominions.

Unfortunately, only 8 CD audiobooks were made from the Horribly Famous series. There are other audiobooks under a related series, Horrible Histories. Some other channels have a few of them uploaded, but I can see if I can upload the full collection, if you'd like? Although, they will be about time periods rather than historical figures.

What I love are amusing (humorous) audiobooks/plays narrated by Bristish actors. This was a wonderful surprise. I have also enjoyed (on other channels) Charles Paris mysteries with Bill Nighy, Agatha Raisin with Penelope Keith. Anyone have other suggestions?

Lifting historical figures from the page, turning events and dates into tales of personalities and intrigue, spun with bits of breathlessness and humour, well, it's captured my full attention, raptly so. If I can't remember it, I like it well enough to return for a new listen. With deep appreciation, an Admirer

Thank-You, this was interesting! One documentary I watched about Henry XVIII hypothesized that the issues experienced by His Wives in carrying pregnancies to full-term, birthing living children, and having children who died young - as well as Henry’s increasing mental-instability as he aged - (etc) were most-likely due to his having contracted syphilis as a young man. Considering the King’s lifestyle and other salient-points discussed, I think that this is very likely. Strange how this overview of Henry’s life doesn’t mention that (or anything else) as a possible reason for his strange behaviour and unstable mental-decline; I also find it perplexing that the possibility/likelihood of those rumours leading to the Wives’ executions/divorces aren’t even hinted at as being untrue. I like the playful way these semi-biographical overviews are presented, but would prefer that more truth than intrigue and humour presented. All-in-all, I found this interesting - but not very helpful (and potentially quite-misleading) as a method/source of Historical education. *Listener’s beware!😉

Besides Horrible Histories (narrated by a different person), there are only 8 Horribly Famous audiobooks - all of which are uploaded and placed in a playlist 😊 If you are interested in the Horrible Histories audiobooks, I'll see if I can upload them. Just let me know!
