There face wash is amazing!!! Ya have to give southern beard cos wash a try. It’s a nice simple natural ingredient list but it just hits a different way lol. It’s soooo smooth in beard and lathers like crazy. And leaves your beard feeling sooooo godammmmm smooth and hydrated.

Fable beard wash is terrible in my opinion. Southern beard co’s wash is the best on the market. I’ve tried every small batch wash n conditioner you could possibly think of and southern beard co makes the absolute best wash. Second is beard octane lcw. Preferably grizzly puncher scent. I personally am not impressed by any of fables products . They have a very bland carrier blend with crazy synthetic fragrance oils which are not good in the long run for your skin and beard. Idc what anyone says essential oils are the way to go. Might not smell in beard as long but it’s better knowing your not putting some man made uncertified fragrance oil into your skin. Good reviews man . Like I said I’m just not a fan of anything fable.

I got mine in March this year 2024. Everyone sounds the same as before the surgery can't do concerts though that was painful

@@SHAIRGIRL32 I feel with normal hearing we never understand how complex music is. With implants it's so complex what your processor is trying to do. I produce concerts for a living and I'm now at the point of feeling really comfortable with music but it's still overwhelming. Being exposed so much to it has helped a lot.

Hey getting my cochlear implant in January (just one side for single sided deafness).. I am also getting cochlear America’s brand.. Any tips for the rehab besides just wearing it as much as possible? I was thinking since I’m on sided and I don’t want to “cheat” with my good ear… I am planning to just listen only with the implanted side and watch movies with subtitles. That’s my only plan at the moment.

Hey there! I wish you well on your cochlear implant journey. I dont exactly know how they work with single sided deafness but when I got my second cochlear implant activated my plan was to wear the only the new one to try to catch it up but what happen was totally different. My old implant was helping my new implant. It was my brain tricking itself to think that the new implant sounded like the old one. If I wore only the new one it sounded terrible but with both the new on sounded almost exactly like the old one. I would try to see if that happens to you before forcing your implant. The brain is a super powerful tool, it might make your implant sound really like your ear. For general purposes, I wore it all the time, forced myself to listen to music even if it sounded really bad. I really just tried my hardest to put myself in normal situations but I practiced paying more attention to the actual act of hearing. Hope that helps!

On one hand my good ear should help speed up my implanted ear (basically telling my brain what I am hearing on that bad side), But on another hand the cheating could possibly delay it as well. Hey another random question that I am currently researching atm.. It wouldn't work for you to wear an airpod headphone in your ear with the implant on would it? I heard someone with the t mic on the advanced biotic brand (located on the very end of the ear hook) say they could use airpods with the t mic but I know Cochlear has the mircophone is a different spot on the external piece.

I do not know about that. I never had the opportunity to try that. I will say the processors pair with the phone very easily so I would assume they thought of something to make that work.

I had cochlear implant surgery on my right ear on June 8th of this year and had my external processor activated on July 3rd. Being able to hear all the little things that everyone else takes for granted is nothing short of amazing at this point.

@@BeardMeThatBeer I read something online awhile back about some concept in Europe that they want to experiment with. The short of it is, they want to devise a cochlear implant that works using coded LED arrays instead of electrical stimulation, but in order for it to work, they still have to figure out how to get a person's cochlea to respond to light, and send the nerve signal to the brain to be correctly interpreted as sound.

@lonewolf9390 wow. That's insane. How would that even work is beyond me? The medical system I go to for implants finally got approval for a new way to program your implant so that is more inline with your physical cochlea. I'm going to be getting that done when my audiologist learns how to do it.

I have the Med-El Synchrony 2 Flex implant, and my audiologist through the University Of Michigan Hospital cochlear implant program sent copies of my MRI files to Med-El, and they sent back a map of my cochlea in relation to where each electrode is.
