That’s awesome… I did one as well. I did mine in Cubase.. how do you do the tempo changes to hit on scene changes. I love Ableton but went to Cubase for the purpose of film scoring. Is there a video that shows your process? Great score by the way.

LOL you just created an emotional ending of a movie, like lovers falling off a waterfall cliff together and getting swallowed by the storming current of the sea and then swimming to another dimension and living eternally as merpeople. That was pretty cool lol.

Is Ableton the DAW you actually use for film scoring? In the thumbnail of an other video of yours I think i saw another DAW - maybe Cubase? I have been composing framents of music in Ableton so far, with its Intro Version (at the time it was enough for me to have 16 tracks, and most instruments or sound I use are not inside Ableton anyways). However, no I want to upgrade to a full version of a DAW and wonder if I should go for Ableton Standard or switch to Cubase. The thing is, I do have a great interest in also being able to compose scores for moving picture within a good workflow and I also appreciate helpful tools for traditional compostion (score editor, or the chord track I heard about etc.). But on the other hand I'm also into electronic sounds, generative stuff etc. and I also think Ableton has good features when it comes to actually performing one's stuff. I feel really lost in my question wether to go for Ableton (which Im used now) and Cubase (which I dont know, but people always seem to say its better for scoring). Do you have an opinion on this? Greetings from Vienna.

Hey! Thanks for the comment :) Cubase is 100% better when you're writing to picture! The video embedding in Ableton is HORRIBLE. Cubase is a well rounded and versatile DAW and imo you can build better workflows in Cubase because you can set own keybindings for literally ANYTHING :)

@@paulgleitsmann6816 I see. I somehow hoped, that it would be still "ok" to do things for picture in Ableton too, since I already know this software. But yeah, that you say for video its just horrible is not very motivating either lol.

@@thomasarboleda9514 Well, i heard they improved a lot of video stuff in Live 10 but since i completely switched DAWs, i cant really tell you anything about that :D Also, I worked almost a year in a studio where we make music for commercials and sfx for apps and audio books, and they were also working with cubase/nuendo. Its basically industry standard, so if you really wanna get into it, i'd recommend cubase :)

@@paulgleitsmann6816 ok thanks for your opinion. Did you actually mean Live 10 or rather 11, which is the most recent version? I will definetly try out the 1 Month Trial of Cubase (gotta order that usb stick still haha) and then I'll see. I guess I wish I could go for both, since apart from Picture I also love experimenting with loop based, more electronic sounds and I love Arturia's products and they seem to collaborate a lot with Ableton. Do you have experience considering the integratin of Arturia Products in Cubase? Be it Midi Controllers or Software instruments?

@@thomasarboleda9514 I think they improved it in live 10 and i'm guessing they further improved it in 11. But im not in the Ableton Game anymore so yea. I actually have an Arturia Keylabb 88 MK2 and I use Analog Lab 4 and 5 A LOT and it's super easy. Everything works fine and i'm absolutely in love with Arturia and especially the Keylabb 88 MK2 :)
