5:32 you didn't give up. Starting mid hill is always a pain. It seems counter productive to ride back down and try again when you are half way up, but the momentum needed to fly up that hill starts at the bottom, in 2nd or 3rd gear if you are adept at feathering the clutch. The highest gear possible is the beat bet for hill climbing. Momentum is your friend up hill.
@mdemartile Жыл бұрын
Momentum is key. Start in the highest gear you can at the base of the hill to build speed. You never want to end up in first gear revving thinking you are moving but only the front wheel wants to come off the ground. Nice bike, cool video.

Want quicker steering? Raise fork tubes up through the triple clamps a few millimeters (only loosen/tighten one fork leg at a time, BTW, unless you want your bike suddenly dropping on its nose...). If steering feels better, maybe drop it another couple millimeters. I've seen race bikes with fork tubes sticking up over 2 full cm but I'd stop at 8 or 9 mm because twitchy steering could be a result - not safe.

I have the long pipes, no DB killers and they are amazing. I have an ECU tune BUT it is not needed. The bike run fine with and without it. Agostini supports this claim as well. You will notice how much better the bike runs compared to the stock mufflers. In comparison, my V85TT doesn't like the full open Arrow exhaust. It needs the back pressure generated by the DB killers. The V9 and V7 don't care as much. My V9 is an E4 bike and the V85TT is an E5. The E5 is a lot more sensitive thanks to the climate change communists. I have also noticed that all my Guzzi bikes and Aprilia V-twins like the longer pipes with larger exhaust chamber volume. Shorter pipes make them run a bit harsh. This is true for many other V-twin powered bikes. The reduction in engine heat is another huge benefit especially in hot climates. Open pipes don't cause the surge when stuck in traffic, true for both my E5 and E4 bikes. Just my 2 cents.
@davidspin5353 Жыл бұрын
Hey, glad to hear you speak of the V85TT and exhaust, on my 2022 V85TT I used a Rapid Bike Evo tuner, K&N air filter and full Agostini. Have troubles getting it to run right and maybe inserting the DB killler will help. sometimes thing about removing the tuner.
@tedmarakas2626 Жыл бұрын
@@davidspin5353 I installed the Rapid tuner on my V85TT and the bike run worse. In fact, when the engine was hot it was pretty much un-rideable. The left side O2 sensor was reading crazy values. Removed it and the dealer checked the harness and found that the voltage regulator wasn't plugged in fully. Whatever that means. Now the bike runs almost fine, depending on ambient temperatures, and I am very hesitant to screw around with the Rapid Bike add on. My V9 has an ECU tune from Todd and has been flawless. The V85TT doesn't run as smooth as the V9 E4. The V85TT is an E5 bike and if it wasn't for the tubeless wheels...I would probably recommend an E4 bike. The charging system is different and better on the E4 bikes. By the way, I have heard some complaints about the other tuning device, I can't remember the name, many say that it runs very rich and the tune is NOT bike specific. Stock sometimes is the best way to go.

Because many car drivers won’t hear or see bikers. The only way we have to make them realize we’re there is noise, either a louder pipe or a horn. They will both be loud, but horns will jumpscare many folks. Let’s cut to the chase: no, I won’t spend more cash on fuel and use my car during the summer just because car drivers won’t use their mirrors or look around when they drive. So it’s either the pipe or you roll over me because you didn’t see or hear me. Or drivers miraculously start using their freakin’ mirrors, which will never happen. One of the options will lead you to a long police station visit and probably a shock trauma. The other will just make your eyes roll. I prefer the second option because I’m sure you’re a nice chap and I’m sure you don’t want to kill me. And so, since we want to be louder because you won’t see me even with my bright neon yellow helmet, it better sound good and guttural instead of sounding like a sewing machine. Which would end up getting on your nerves anyway since that’ll disturb you from the text message you’re writing while driving. Cool? Cool.

That was fun! Do you have any noticeable fueling / lean symptoms after installing the pipes? May I suggest to consider lowering the levers a bit - you may find the new position more neutral and quicker to transition from a full bar to a full lever grab + more hand will be on the bars + leverage should improve very slightly. Your bike will respond well to additional counter-steering input to the point to where it's possible to hold any line of your choosing at that speed. Even leaned over in a turn the big front wheel & geometry can be made quicker by counter-steering. Takes a while to get used to & build muscle memory. I often lead-out a 1050 triple on a 22 V7 so I use every trick I can. 😁
