Great documentary, revealing and insightful on how Godard's and Karina's relationship influenced those films and vice versa. Please, who is the singer/song over the end credits? can't find it on Google or see it acknowledged within the end credits.
@lachambreverteКүн бұрын
The song is "Jamais je ne t'ai dit que je t'aimerai toujours" by Serge Rezvani. It is sung by Anna Karina, from the film "Pierrot le fou."

@@lachambreverteCheers for the info, I'll definitely have to rewatch Pierrot le Fou now. Anna's version has such a great feel to it. Again, much appreciated !

It's a landmark film in the annals of Indian films. It's a saga of survival post partition of a family through one member s solo efforts. The family turns the tide but the saviour dies. At the end spotlight on another girl of another family to show the beginning of the end.

Is this trailer representative of the film? This looks boring and predictable tbh...

@lachambreverte8 күн бұрын
Yes, much of the scene was used in the film, it's the kissing part that was deleted.

This is a great clip to show someone when they don't quite understand what a director actually does on set. You can see every single part is there from the first take, but isn't quite fitting, and then slowly it gets better and better on each take until it's pitched exactly right. Justine Triet + the cast are amazing.

Yes! Also, kudos to Sandra Hüller. Director Hans-Christian Schmid has said of her: "Someone with less talent plays almost the same thing over four takes. Sandra has a lot of imagination, she always comes up with new ideas."

Brilliant analysis. I've been a fanatic Fassbinder fan (and now fledgling scholar planning to write my doctorate thesis on Berlin Alexanderplatz). As others in the comments below have mentioned Ozon's recent adaptation. I loved and wonder if you've seen his earlier adaptation of RWF's play "Water Drops on Burning Rocks" ? It's my understanding Fassbinder wrote the original Petra Von Kant based on his affair with Gunther Kaufman. I've always wondered about the choice to make the change. Fassbinder remains repellant, fascinating, anarchic, empathetic, I feel his films become more and more relevant.

took me 3 days to finish it so yea..bit boring, I get it though the critics always go nuts over human relationships and psychology and shit...but I like something of a narrative in there this film just has none it just jumps from one unlikeable character to the other all the way to end
