I *HATE* fantasy books here’s why 1. The names are always something like “Ariannalilyannachristinamila” like make up your mind😭😭 2. It’s so confusing like why are there random dragons like- 3. They’re THICK and really heavy 4. The words are too deep and often just sound like a cheesy hallmark card

Really great video! I think another reason why we may struggle to have hobbies in adulthood is how our parents raised us. My parents definitely made fun of me or judged me whenever I tried to do something new. It eventually made me interpret it all as "Why bother taking up a hobby if no one is going to be impressed by it?" I'm slowly trying to unlearn this mindset, but it's a challenge for sure.
@alyxandriaangАй бұрын
This is such a great point! Growing up in an immigrant household, my parents also posed that same question. They would also ask how my hobbies would help me make money, and that was always kind of disappointing.

As a Gen z , I feel the sentiment we have is now that the oldest of our generation has been working for 5 years post graduation we have kinda realised how cutthroat and unforgiving businesses are. And the mantra we really are asking is are we working to live or living to work that’s something I respect about how honest we are on that

YES! That last sentence hit.

This is the exact way Im feeling with looking for work, I enjoy social media. I am taking digital marketing course, and I am wondering if companies will still hire if I am still fresh in digital marketing. Should I just apply anyways?
@alyxandriaang2 ай бұрын
I meann my advice is to go for it! I applied to Social Media Manager roles with 0 professional experience. What I've learned is that it's mostly learning on the job and there are so many applicable skills from other industries.

Gen Z is not wrong. The Boomers have just ruined everything for everyone. Esp the ones who became successful. They're like vampires. If you have a job you have to pay taxes too and you'll be expected to move out and live on your own which is not feasible as rents are high and taxes are shitty and really what are you doing if you can't earn enough to save or even have a job that you enjoy? It's super not worth it. I'm gonna quit too and live very frugally and minimally. Let the rich people keep the economy afloat by spending or whatever. Let them eat cake.

thanks for this comment! ngl i was bullied a lot for my mole as a kid, and it took a lot of work to get to a place of self love. i think what really helped was telling myself that i look so unique and not many have a mole like mine :) it made me feel almost proud of my mole. hope that helps!

As someone that just turned 30, I loved this. We all must define success our way because what we are working towards to, when we are working on our goals… it will always be different. I think only as children we are all in a similar page due to school but once school is out the adventure begins. Here’s to all of us working to succeed on our goals. We got this.

No problem to quit for make any choice you like. Just make sure you are financially responsible for yourself too. When you quit, don't expect financial support from your parents or goverment.

Love the video! As a 32-year-old millennial, I hate the backlash that GenZ receives. Your 20s, and honestly life in general, are about exploring things that work best for you. Keep exploring and setting those boundaries 🌟Life has been hard on us all. We all deserve better and for our mental health to be valued.

I quit so so so many jobs in my 20’s, a lot of it was job hopping, really, trying to find better jobs because I had SO many bad jobs. That’s what your 20’s are for IMO. Then when I was 28 I went to grad school and started a new career path which I’m still doing at age 42 :)

i recentlyish (4 months ago) quit my job without anything lined up and i knew that the job market was horrendous but oh my god i was not prepared for how horrible the job market is. I think that would also be an interesting video topic? I've seen some youtube videos about it, but yeah. like the scams and amount of ghost job postings and how you can apply for a job and never hear back from them is Absurd. i also just cannot for the life of me figure out what kind of job i think would be sustainable for me that I could also realistically get. everything about work and jobs and everything that's tied to it (ie insurance) is so... annoying? devastating? evil?! all of the above. god
@alyxandriaang3 ай бұрын
Yeah I’ve seen so many videos about that too and it would be interesting to do a deep dive! I think there is still too much taboo about quitting esp when it’s about mental health ! Thanks for sharing your experience ❤

With GenZ AI digital twin replacement workers, they will never know you left
@ladybookworms2 ай бұрын
Good for them and good for AI I guess. When are YOU going to be replaced by the way? Hopefully you can make sure you aren't ear deep in debt when that happens. If AI is going to replace you anyway then why even bother to get employment in the first place? Gen Z is better off finding alternative ways to finance themselves than working a stupid job where AI is going to replace them anyways. I hope you see the stupidity of your statement.
