I think SC is one of the most investable of the S&V era. I ran the numbers on the top 10 cards and cost to obtain and SC returned some of the best results for the era. Set screams value!!

Colin, when judging Stellar Crown you have not considered the factbthat it is MUCH smaller set and therefore the total value of all cards is much less! 😉

@@ThePokeOffice yes, exactly. Less cards, less total value and therefore worse score for Stellar Crown. So I just want to say that your measurement metrix disadvantages Stellar Crown in comparison with e.g. Paradox Rift IMO eventhough Stellar Crown is better set than PAR (IMO, of course)

I just loaded up on 151. 2 ultra premium collections at $109/ea. and 5 booster bundles for $35/ea. I plan to open 1 ultra premium and 2 booster bundles, gift another 2 booster bundles, and save 1 of each for another time. I’ll probably buy a few more, and maybe an ETB or two, and maybe 2 Japanese booster box expansions (1 to open 1 to keep) depending on what I pull from English. Idk. But I don’t want to miss out on that set if there’s not a big reprint and it ends up being more limited.

It's actually a good point. Price isn't the only variable. Time, print run, etc all play into it. But there's no question that chase cards and prices affect the set's value moving forward

Twilight has been the set to go all in on for SV era. For 3 months it was at $1000 total value and people chose to ignore it. I bought so many of these for $80 on tik tok and now MSRP is at $145. People get too emotional about not having their favorite Pokémon that they ignore what the market is saying about the set.

I really like this analysis - instant sub! And I'd love to know how you're scraping that data, if you'd be willing to share.... (I'd love to see a video on that!!!!). But it would be great to also see the best case scenario returns on top chase cards. I saw another guy ranking based on ROI for the top hits compared to the cost of a booster box. Would be interesting to see something like that, maybe also combined with hit rates, against the actual cost of products like ETBs and booster boxes that contain these packs. I'm looking at products more than I'm looking at loose packs ATM. Again, great video, and I really really want to know how you're getting that data!!!

151 was awesome collecting. When you're collecting the entire set, every pack had something new. These other sets, if youre only collecting some of cards, a lot of the packs feel like garbage if you don't hit the card you're chasing. New boarders, Return of Kadabra, First ever PokeDex ordered set which is great for OCD binder collectors, first time all 151 pokemon are in a single set, the starter evolutionary lines have connected illustration arts. 151 is an absolute banger of a set.

If you werent there during pokemania in 99 you wont understand. It wasnt even about just the cards. Pokemon was everywhere. Cards, shows, games theatrical movies, toys, hell there was a broadway pokemon play. It wasnt like the boom during covid where people were in it for money. Everyone had some sort of pokemon connection they loved if you are in your 30s

I’ve been collecting for years and totally understand Pokemon introducing new gimmicks. But dude I just can’t get behind the terra crowns. I thought maybe they would grow on me but I’m just not a fan. And I honestly think that’s a huge positive note for 151 because there are no terra crowns. Imagine if they did 151 with terra crowns, I don’t think it would be anywhere near as popular

I wanna know what kind of doomsday scenario we re in for if 151 isn’t reprinted. I can only imagine what prices will go for in the future. 👀 I’m glad that set got me back into the hobby. I’ve learned so much the past year, thanks to meeting people in the hobbies and thanks to KZbinrs like yourself.

Twilight was definitely the best investment in S&V so far. Ignore the Pokémon, the community has made Twilight possess the most wanted chase card of this era; in turn creating the highest total set value. Boxes are now $140 after only 5 months. 151 will most likely get a reprint (even if it doesn't, Twilight was the play)

@@Zaee718 The MSRP for 151 was always $55+ and after 1 YEAR it gained $30. MSRP of Twilight boxes were $100 and after only 5 months gained $45. Pokemon center ETB's are the only exception and most investors do not have a lot of those. You're a clown if you think twilight is garbage, its already tied for most expensive S&V booster box in 5 months

You can't say that TM is the best "set" just because of ONE single card. You can say and argue that it has the best chase card, sure. When you compare the SIR's and IR's to other sets, it is average at best.

@@truetaru I'm saying TM is the best investment because booster boxes have had the fastest growth in the shortest time of any SV set. It took Paldea 1 year to reach $140 per box, while TM is already there at the 5 month mark.
