Helping Hands of Cleveland Tennessee 8 years ago This is a good presentation, however I would like to add the following: In a hospital bed, Please make sure to put up the bedrail on the side of the bed they will be rolling over to before asking the patient to roll over in that direction. After placing the bedpan and before stepping away from the bed (especially behind a curtain where you can't see what is happening), put up the rail on the other side as well. Would also like to add that a good measure that we were taught and pass on to our Caregivers and CNA, is to wash the hands to the tune of Twinkle Twinkle Little Star played in your mind one time: equal to about 20 seconds. There is one part of the hand that was missed in the hand washing section: place each hand between the thumb and index finger of the other. Begin moving the hand on top back and forth which cleans the area between the thumb and the forefinger, then alternate placing the other hand on top moving fingers backward and forward over the top of the hand This cleans the often missed area in between the thumbs and the index fingers

You washed your hands then touched your clothes and cabinet handles before putting your gloves... YOUR HANDS ARE CONTAMINATED MUST BE WASHED ALL OVER AGAIN

PPE- Excellent on most areas, don't like removal of gloves. Clean hand is at risk of getting contaminated between sleeve and gloves. Then you remove the mask with potentially contaminated hand, very close to portal of entries.
