I think that extra part is only used if you mount the fan vent on a side wall 🧱 But for the roof I think it was okay the way you had it. I think it's just a cheap design that way 😅 you didn't need to add that plastic thing on the outside... I bought and installed the same thing you have. I'm reading the instructions right now and it says the ring slots are to face downward. 👀 I think it's intended for rain drainage??? @@BradandNicoleBean Quik ? Brad. Is there a big difference between tinned copper wire and copper wire and would it be sufficient to use it 8-10 ft. to wire up my 12/12/30 dc to dc charger?
@BradandNicoleBean3 ай бұрын
@jackconway3248 the biggest difference is probably price. Tinned copper wire in an RV or a trailer is a better choice because of the higher protection level. The copper is covered in tin which gives it more conductivity and it protects it from the elements and breaking down. It should be more than sufficient just find an online electrical wire gauge guide to ensure that you have a big enough gauge wire for the amount of electricity that you want to use.

Hi Brad & Nicole. Nice video. I plan to use the 12-12-30 Isolated Tri-dc to dc charger on my pop top pickup camper. Does the + 12 feeding the charger from the truck come directly from the alternator or the +post on the truck battery? Nowhere can I find instalation instructions covering this. Thank you for any info.
@BradandNicoleBean3 ай бұрын
Thanks for the comment Our DC DC charger has options for both coming from the alternator or the battery. But our battery is already in the cab of the vehicle so we used that instead of running a separate wire. Most new batteries have a brain. They will only allow it to charge so much. So Personally, I would rather replace a $400 battery rather than a $2000 alternator if anything was to go wrong. Hope that’s helpful.
@jackconway32483 ай бұрын
Yes, as well the Victron will taper and float not to over charge if you have a regular battery. Thnx it was helpful. Happy trails n camping👍
