About three years ago i was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease and i heard this song for the first time on my Alexa and fell in love with the song! And a little over fifty years ago i met and fell in love with a Carolina Girl and we’ve been married for almost fifty years! And yes Carolina Girls are special especially the one I married!! I grew up in the Carolina. Years later, mt late 20s I guess, I was in a club in Altanta when this song came on. Probably my all-time favorite beach music tune. There was this little cutie across the dance floor that I'd been making eyes at for a few minutes. So I strode across the dance floor, extended my hand and asked, "Would you like to shag?" She recoiled and gave me a horrified look. Turns out she was British. I explained the difference in usage, but no, I never did get my dance. Just wary looks the rest of the night. True story.
