I remember watching this live and seeing Contreras react the way he did, I knew it was gonna be bad. I hate to see that. Catchers beware.

😯Unfortunate accident but the catcher, as some other fellows have mentioned here, got way too close to the home plate. Now he is going to be out the game for at lest six weeks. 🤕

There have been WAYYYY too many instances of catcher’s interference this year. What are guys being taught?! You can frame very well catching it deeper, too

Wonder what he was thinking just sticking his arm over the plate like that. I dont follow baseball but i am assuming this guy is a pro thats been playing baseball his whole life. So what was he thinking?
@dalethelander3781

His coaches ordered him to do this to increase the chance of using "framing" to fool the home plate umpire into calling an outside pitch a strike instead of a ball.

Why hasn’t there been a line put in place that the catcher can’t cross. Contreras didn’t used to do this but his pitch framing stats were really bad. Every catcher is scooting up to steal strikes because if they don’t they will fall behind the other catchers that do. JUST DRAW A LINE!!!
