Society and social engineering would have us believe that women break out into song. More likely guys in the military who probably regularly do this. Given the situations and circumstances they find themselves in, it makes perfect sense. Great coping mechanism, easy to follow, maintains a rhythm and tempo when doing anything.

My grandpa was in Vietnam, he said when it was time for the gas chamber, the drill instructor said to not rub your eyes when you get out of the chamber. After he got out of the chamber, he was sitting near a rock hoping to get a cigarette in. The drill instructor came up to him and asked "Does it burn your eyes?" My grandpa told him how bad it burned and the instructor said "why don't you rub your eyes then private?" My grandpa rubbed his eyes and said, of course the burn got worse, but that wasn't the worst part. The drill instructor started yelling at him telling him he was an idiot for not listening when they said don't rub your eyes before going in. My grandpa said he doesn't know how he got through his army days, but he did it. He was the best man ever, my best friend in life, passed away this past February. Rip Grandpa.
