Amazing! I had no idea that organ had so many colours, though I have fond memories of it as I practised on it around 1980.

A work of love, Jonathan. Consecrated to the quintessential "voice of the [eternal] infant." And yet: that atypical, for an artist of Jehan's high+ potential, volley of bullets from his own weapon, which at 'the ambush' killed xx# of German soldiers during the short Drôle de Guerre (1940). ...more than can be said for the rest of France's war-weary military. That day A-L-A-I-N's youthful innocence took a crashing fall; only to open onto vistas--it's my belief--of Light, Truth, Freedom of higher dimensions that a soul like his had surely envisioned often enough. And that clairvoyance comes out in each of his compositions. It's a cliché that we let our minds wander, and wonder what could have been with just 5 more years of the rigorous training to which French organist-improviser-composer musicians were (and still are!) subjected to in France. J's middle and late-period compositions would have given us Music of the order of Duruflé's memorializing P&F. But uniquely J's own style, rooted in the youthful period cut short "in an instant, suddenly" to quote the KJV of Isaiah. All one can really say is C'est la vie." But one can also be uniquely, powerfully enriched by the very high levels of civilization brought together right here in your collage. Not least: including a Father Willis in full glory. Midsized, but all one could ever want when playing a Sunday service. To summarize, thank you! Mark (Arizona usa)

Oh for gods sake slow it down. This is not a rush for the finish line. This is a very interesting piece of music. If the organist thinks he know what's what; he doesn't. Sorry. Just that the bastard should be take out and..... Shoot the organist a.s.a.p. Or give him a shot of bourbon. Make it a double. then. He's not listening to work. He's merely flying his fingers around the keyboard. And even then, the glory comes shining through. Shit. !

hello how to set up alternative voices because I have to change the voice of trombone 16 "to bassoon 16" in the pedal because I am looking for alternative voices and I can't find them, I will be forever grateful and I have a viscount chorum 90 with the system 1.1 10

Go to the voices menu and find alternative voices. Press the tab down on the organ until it flashes then scroll through the voices to find bassoon 16 press enter. and it should remember the voice!

@krzysztofgentkowski49103 жыл бұрын
which registration is used in the introduction?
@jonathanholmes32233 жыл бұрын
This was played using the internal speakers only. The organ is just in a relatively small music room here recorded on a Zoom H2n 'Handy Recorder". Sonus is very flexible, and with a bit of 'juggling' you can make it sound how ever you want it, a real chameleon of an instrument!
@anthonycelentano30103 жыл бұрын
I learned this piece freshman year of college. Wicked to play. And you did a wonderful job. Also sounds wonderful on your Sonus organ. I have a Sonus in my church. Was this using the internal speakers or do you have external speakers attached ?

the scherzo reminds me a lot of Bach's "lasst o fürst der cherubinen"!
@ZL54JK82 жыл бұрын
For those, including me, insufficiently knowledgeable to the extent that they had to Google this reference, I find that it is the tenor aria from Bach's splendid Cantata no, 130. That however is a Gavotte in style, and if you were reminded of it by the Whitlock Scherzo here then the latter must have been played too slowly.
