Have you not heard of the John Kavli Blades. No blade compares to it against tall hard to cut grass. If you get a chance do a review

I have two 21" blades on my Bobcat ZT mower. The stock blades are 2.5" wide. I'm wondering if I could put a wider blade on them or if it will cause damage. I'm looking at the Oregon Gater G5
@curbappeallawncarellc42634 ай бұрын
not sure i would go with a wider blad but find that size in the gater g5 if they have it. you figure those spindles will be under more stress with a wider blade that is gonna have a little more weight to it. I would look into it more as this is a great question and not one i had ever thought about.

What is high and low lift? What are your lifting?
@curbappeallawncarellc42635 ай бұрын
the grass is what it lifts. high lights will create a vaccum that will lift grass blades high and low lift doesnt lift them as much.

@@curbappeallawncarellc4263 Thanks for the response. I thought I got back to you, but realized it didn't. The model is YTH2348. I contacted Husqvarna and they mentioned they don't make low or flat for that model.
@curbappeallawncarellc42634 ай бұрын
@@leecarman6357 ideally yes you should use two different blads as zoysia you typically want to cut like gulf course short. Fescue i would use high lift on.. The zoysia can depend. i have used my usual high lifts and its done the job. i would probably use low lift or even a standard flat blade. Since usually you cut zoysia between 1inch and 2inches.

The Gator blade is a mulching blade. My Gator G2 does a fantastic job on TTTF, Kentucky, etc.
@curbappeallawncarellc42635 ай бұрын
correct it is. but theres also mulching blades with out the gator style.
@Kiddro226 ай бұрын
I use a high lift blade to lift/suck the grass blades for a precise cut on TTTF. So I don't have to perform a second cut because some of the blades were missed. I have some lazy grass blades in my lawn that sometimes don't get cut after the first pass. Even with sharp blades
@curbappeallawncarellc42635 ай бұрын
yeah that can happen. honestly with sharp blades it is possible to still end up with missed blades of grass. expecially sparse and such type of grass. lot of times the mower deck pushes the grass down and it may not spring back up right away.
@Bob_Adkins6 ай бұрын
I dislike high lift blades because you can't sharpen them many times before you're grinding into the lift wing. If you grind into the lift wing, the blade cuts higher than the center part of the blade and it drags on the grass. But try finding medium lift blades, they're pretty rare.
@curbappeallawncarellc42636 ай бұрын

Seem like with high lift it doesn't like tall grass it clogs and bogs too much I've found low lifts good for tall but high lifts were better than low for short grass so the ballard x blades seem ideal to use a low lift with mulching combo

havent tried them. mainly cause the price.

I run Ballards on my mower (the HI-Rise ones not the X blades) and they don't seem to care how high the grass is and tear through it. They have a taller wing on them compared to standard high lift blades though. Kinda remind me of my old Snapper HI-Vac with the Air Lift blades

What blade do you recommend for centipede grass? It’s sometimes called the lazy man’s grass, but I like not having to mow it every week.😂
@curbappeallawncarellc42636 ай бұрын
id use a keeped sharp low lift mower blade as centipede grass usually you cut pretty short like carpet. but you can use a high lift as well. Over all u just want to be using a good sharp blade.
@ramdude125 ай бұрын
I run Ballard super high lifts on mine. I have a Toro Timecutter 30" that comes with gator blades stock but with the speed that my yard grows and the mixture of clover, fescue, and rye in the back yard had major issues with clumping and buildup (these mowers are known for it unfortunately) With the new ones I have zero issues and produce a carpet like cut mowing on the 2nd lowest setting and the vacuum created helps leave a nice stripe. Great at side discharging and will absolutely PACK the bagger full meaning more time between stopping. I will have to try a low lift set someday and compare though!

I’ve always used bulk and wondered why people would use bagged but it makes sense now. Thanks. Do you see a big difference in price?
@curbappeallawncarellc42638 ай бұрын
hey man well yeah there can be a price difference at times. i think bulk is like 25-30 a yard here and a yard covers 100 square feet at 3 inches thick. so roughtly need 13 bags of mulch to cover that 100 square feet. and depending on price of bagged gonna run between 50 and 60 bucks. Could be less depending where you get the bags from.

Hi there, I saw your KZbin channel and understand you are a very hardworking KZbinr. Very nice video on your channel, I really enjoyed it. According to your channel, you have good-quality videos but the videos are not getting views and subscribers are not increasing. You need to optimize your channel and do video SEO to reach your target audience. Otherwise, if you upload videos to your channel throughout the year, none of your videos will get viral views. If your channel is optimized a little and the videos are SEO, your channel will rank very fast and grow.
