My handbrake was just fine until I left the negative terminal off for 1 hour while doing a little coil work, and when I set off, it will not release the handbrake automatically, and I have to do it manually. I also find that when the rear pads were reaching their wear limit, the rear tended to drag and not release very well. Also, stopping and restarting the car sometimes gave the computers time to think and reset. I'm looking for a fuse now to see if it popped while removing the negative battery terminal.

Great guide however I have a problem, Great guide however long shot lads but I've followed this to replace the top mount and bearing and now I have a slight 'clunk' on the front end no idea why, every nut and bolt is tight, anyone know why? Does the top mount rubber need to go on a certain way? Any help much appreciated.

Not quite the same problem but my blowers make a lot more noise than they used to, almost a deep humming noise as well as the air flow you hear. Do you think this could be the same problem?

Thanks, just disconnecting the neutral for 5 minutes did the job tho - and I forgot you said the key wouldn't work straight away and would have to be opened and turned over manually! 😂 thanks anyway

This seems to be a common problem on ford B max as well only today 30/01/25 I have found a pool of water in the spare wheel well about 3inches deep had no inclination it was there no smell lucky enough water had no entered passenger area of vehicle don't fancy doing this job myself as weather is terrible in Luton and I have very little patience vehicle is going to garage tomorrow I was wondering what it is they are going to do these vents are obviously known for failing if weather was better I would try this myself but weather is bad heavy rainfall over last 2 months surprised how much water is getting in apparently it comes from the roof and drains through the inside of the vehicle

Had a similar issue on a Peugeot 308 cleaned all the positive terminals were salty he sorted out the problem for about 10 days and now the problem came back again so I’ve stuck the new battery in now. I’m just waiting to see. Hopefully it was the battery that was doing the problem but this video helped a lot.

Thanks for the video, very helpful indeed. I have been getting that annoying warning sound and sign for a while and checked all lights and looked fine, but after watching this video makes sense to check that rear cluster since it's a twin light and probably has one that has gone bad.

My traction control light flashes on intermittently and I have loss of power. The only way I can drive the car is by turning the traction control off would you say it was the rings that needed replacing or the sensor? No fault codes.
