Not to be odd, but what size is kate? The shops near me only have the Medium size. The legs fit alright but the back is a touch big. I am wondering if it would be a mistake to get the small. I am 5'10feet tall, 34waist and not skiny legs lol so i am nervous to order the small and the legs be way to tight. Thanks 🙂

@@kristimoore151 I’m in a medium and I’m 5’10 and 32 waist. I have not tried Kate’s small but I’m happy with how the medium fits. I know some people have had the same issue with you tho

the swap from srt to drt is a nice idea. so the line is still anchored to the bottom of the tree? you used your lanyard as a second tie off. Meanwhile, you unhooked and pulled your line up and set it to a drt system? I am trying to understand. You have great content sir!

I tried today the method with the floating ring and the carabiner. As to prevent the ring from free-falling when retrieving (5:15 aprox) I attached the carabiner to the ring so it makes both the function of preventing the knot from going through the ring (or getting undone) and it also prevents a free-fall of the ring when pulling the rope. I tried it and works well but I would recommend to make a longer alpine butterfly so it's moving freely and things are not so tight up there. Let me know what you think and also if you find some security hole in the idea. Better 4 (n, if more people try it) eyes than 2 with these things

Nice to see you guys teaching with patience and experience. When I first started I was rushed, pushed too hard and taught the wrong practices, led to mistakes and doubting myself for the career choice. Take it easy Charlie, enjoy the process, push yourself but know your limitations! I don’t regret my career choice now, not even rainy day coni bashing 😅

Cheers Mick, this is better than any official information provided by industry organisations. Have you tried incorporating any of Paul Poytner's ideas into your two rope work? The use of extended tethers, American Clacker anchor device and utilising two shorter work ropes with a small diameter retrieval line (save kitbag weight) are all interesting things that I am wanting to try and utilise in my work.
@mickarblifeАй бұрын
Hi James, I think I mainly do most do what you have said already or have tried it in the past. I have a short 6mm retrieval rope already. With the extended tether are you talking about for the rope wrench? I have not used the American clacker but had done simaler things but don’t like the idea of having so much pressure on the retrieval balls. But after saying that I do love the idea and how it all works. A mate did tell me about an idea to fix the retrieval ball issue so will try get some pictures from him and see if I can make it work. Thanks for the comment good to make me think about it all

Illegal! your supposed to have two mainlines to access and move around in a tree. NEVER seen anyone do it and have don't see the point in extra time in the tree, effort and mental exhaustion of two lines which makes mistakes MUCH more often but still apparently illegal I hate the uk regulations it makes working so hard and the reason why I left another profession and may leave this one for something where I have some actual freedom to perform what I am trained in But great video very informative
