In utero, if the mutation develops, it can be germline (affecting all cells) or somatic, depending on the stage of development. However if its inherited from a parent then its confirmed germline. This definition is confusing and extra. The traditional definition should be: Hereditary: ANY GERMLINE MUTATIONS WHERE PARENTS PASS DOWN DEFECTIVE RB1 GENE OR GERMLINE MUTATION DEVELOPED IN UTERO. Another somatic mutation is acquired later on in life. Acquired: Two somatic mutations.

Odynaphagia, Dysphasia here ... with 2 strictures, one Oesophageal diverticula, two entrances to stomach (1 via diverticula 1 via normal junction), previous failed Fundoplication. In excess of 15 OGDs, 1 EUS, multiple flexible signoid investigations, 8 manometry and 24hr manometry tests, 7 exyended Barium swallows, 6 dilatations in 2023 / 24 3x botox injections ... Dropped 2 stone + in weight, and on mainly fluids. Now awaiting total Oesophagectomy.
