I use a trap, and a 2X4 or other piece of wood, 2X6 by say 8 foot long. Put the trap against your home and put the board on the other side leading to the entrance of the trap, but flange it out by say 30 degrees or so, it will funnel the Armadillo into the trap, no bait required. Then, I just tie rope to the trap, toss it in the lake for a few minutes and empty the carcass on the shore. Next, buzzards come to clean up the mess, but that's when target practice begins.

This makes perfect sense to. Should have seen me this past weekend going slowly throughout the pool trying to get all the dead algae outta the pool. I'd I had used this technique everything would have been in the deep end making it easier to get out.

A friend of mine said that you can catch Armadillo with the scent of an Armadillo. He caught 6-7 of them out on his property after he killed one. He rubbed it down with a rag and used that rag as bait. Thought that was interesting.

I guess you should have included when you push all that debris to the deep end it gets sucked up by the main drain into the filter. What doesn't get sucked up can be cleaned with a vacuum

They make brushes especially designed for cleaning pools, and automatic vacuums for picking up the dirt. If you’re looking to save yourself work check those out…

My dad was in WW2 in Pacific navy. He never would talk about it really at all. He told me once when I was about 10, 11, or 12 his ship never was engaged in battle against the japs. I don't know for sure if that was true or not. He told me he was head of the laundry department on his ship. He acted like he had NO fond memories of his WW2 experience at all. Dad was an ((All State)) football player born & raised in Texas. Dig? His father (my grandpa) was born in Texas in 1871.

My uncle my dad’s twin was a prisoner of war in Germany, their other brother had been killed in France on a bridge. My uncle would only tell him about one thing that happened to him. They put my dad in the Pacific so they couldn’t be captured and torture one to make the other talk. My dad’s company kept in touch and would have army reunions every couple years till they were in their 70’s and 80’s when they couldn’t travel from all their states to meet up anymore. The adults had a good times reminiscing and catching up, us kids also had fun with all the new friends we made.

I'm not a reporter but the interviewer let him loose, talk and choke for an hour and was not prepared to ask key questions that would advance the information. Did he marry? Does he have any family? What did he do throughout his long life?

I prefer wooden traps, or at least you should put in a thin plywood floor plate. 'Dillos are absolutely attracted to the smell of other ones, and the wood will absorb the odor. If properly placed, they will wander into a new trap eventually. They WILL go into a previously used trap with ease! Baits will attract coons and possums like a magnet. If you build a second trap, take a dillo from your first trap and leave it in the new one (in a cool, shaded place) for six or eight hours to get it scented. Placement is the single most important factor. That's all that is necessary.
