The old gardener guy is beloved by us. I don't know about his early career, but seeing wonderful Leonard Lassiter in this clip reminds me the 1st time was in "The Fall and Rise of Reginald Perrin" - Leonard's weekend offering here in TX in the late 60's on KERA public TV. Then, 20 years later he was in, "The Young Ones" 1984 alternative comedy show which was ground breaking and fantastic...it was like "Monty Python" on acid... and first appeared on MTV. All those great uplifting comedy shows and dramatic ones like, "Upstairs Downstairs", " Danger UXB", "Love for Lydia" along with the Pythons, "Open All Hours", "Are You being Served", etc. defined the last era of classy programs for these old eyes..... the new stuff lacks something.
The slow motion assault on Cato in the kitchen is another favourite... And Peter Sellers in general the undying actor in Oh what a party...

I was 12 years old when this movie hit the theaters. My Mom drove me to the theater, dropped me off every Saturday and I would pick a movie and watch it. I would stay and watch it more than once if I enjoyed it. THIS movie was the one I chose that one time and I watched it at least 4 times before calling my mom to come to pick me up. Went back to the same theater and this movie the next weekend and watched it at least three more times. Never knew anything about the Pink Panther franchise or Peter Sellers before those two weekends. Man, what a lesson I got. This movie is still my favorite of all the Pink Panther movies though my long-time favorite Peter Sellers movie is most certainly the movie Being There.

Sellers puts the bumble in bumbling, and in this scene the bumble bee is a metaphor.

There are ROLES we MUST ACCEPT will only see DISTANT SECONDs: SEAN CONNERY as JAMES BOND, JULIE NEWMAR as CATWOMAN and PETER SELLERS AS CLOUSEAU! We must add HERBERT LOM as “THE LUNATIC DREYFUS”. I agree; this was the funniest LONG SEQUENCE ever shot.

One of the funniest sections of comedy ever. His clumsiness is so excruciating, you really feel embarrassed and understand what might be going through the minds of the accompanying policemen.

Too bad he was taken away so soon, he was filming another Pink Panther movie as I recall. Sad, there will never be another comedic genius like him and never another hilarious Pink Panther film.

"MURDER?I?" "What was that you said!?!?" "I said `murder'" "WHAT murder??!?" "Well I don't know- YOU said 'murder' '" "I said MURDER??!?!?" *YOU* said `murder'" "I said 'murder' because YOU said 'murder'" "I SAID MURDER?!!!!?" -Then the gardner starts to explain the past conversation, and as he's doing this, Clouseau looks up like he's hearing a voice from the heavens. Just priceless.

MICHEAL ROBBINS, the butler, was great in "The Visitation" - - - the fourth serial of the 19th season of the British science fiction television series Doctor Who. It was first broadcast in four twice-weekly parts on BBC1 from 15 to 23 February 1982. The serial is set in and near London in the 17th century. In the serial, a group of fugitive aliens called Terileptils plot to make the Earth their new home by spreading a deadly plague among humanity.
