Hey Tom! DANKE! Warum hast Du keinen weiteren Videos mehr gepostet?

2.9v is a common cut-off voltage for LiPo/Li-Ion as it's gentler on the chemistry. 2.5v is a deeper discharge you can do but it may affect lifespan of the cell(s) and current delivery at those low levels is usually limited.

Stop using ratchets to loosen bolts, get longer breaker bad to do it. When doing things that need front or rear off ground, undo all the tight bolts while bike is on its wheels and more stable.

Hi Gerry, there will be more Videos, but there is a big Butt in the middle. I do this in me freetime, of which i have had not so much lately. Reasons are, i moved from my "home" Garage, to a rented Garage in February, which took some time, you know like it is. Then we moved with all our stuff in May into a new home. In the destination house there is and was a lot todo. We managed todo a lot, but then, i can only do so much in my freetime and most of the time i spent with renovating or keeping up with my bikes i already have. My buddies call me a "freak" because i am so tedious with my bikes. I like to have them clean and very well maintained, that i do not make a video about that. Having said that, if anyone wants me to put the camera on my maintenance stuff, i will do. So the SuperTen Project got very neglected for obvious reasons. I have at least another 4 or 5 videos from all the things i have done, but did not find the time to get the material edited. I am not planning to be so "silent" here but when the wife says, kitchen goes first. I do the kitchen ;-) Then we have to also count on the holidays with the family and so on. Stay tuned, there will be new videos as soon as possible! And for all of that, thank you very much for caring!

@@toms-channel oh wow, it’s great to hear that you’re ok. Sometimes life just gets in the way eh? I have a ZXR 750 that I’m trying to “refresh”, wouldn’t call it a restoration as it’s being done on a tight budget and when life (and wife 😂) isn’t getting in the way, so have enjoyed some of your tips. Especially the part about painting as that’s something I’m keen to do myself but haven’t got the kit yet. Good luck with the house stuff and looking forward to the next instalment when you get time. I’ve subscribed now so should get notifications when it happens 👍

That is a common "issue", the more your carburetors are out of sync, the more it vibrates after 4500 RPM. It vibrates for me too but in an OK range. More on that on an upcoming Video. Greetings and thanks for your comment.

Hey there! I I'm trying to find a new front rim and spokes for my tenere but can't find anywhere...the used ones i find don't have a good rim condition ...i found a shop that sells front rim and spokes but for the tenere 700 ...rim size is the same as the tenere 750 (21x1.85).do you know if this rim could fit the old tenere 750?

Hi There, D.I.D. Rims are no longer available. If they are, it is new old stock. You can get really new ones from Excel and so on. I got new Spokes from a shop here in germany. My Rims in the Video are original Rims but painted already from the guy i baught them. Sorry, that i can not give more as an answer, but ask a local dealer for let's say KTM, they may can help you locate the right dealer.

I have so enjoyed watching your video. Its nice to just watch you work on this old school but great bike. My son and I rebuilt a Super Tenere '89 model during COVID and it was a wonderful project. We found that servicing and in particular balancing the carbs was difficult, but worth persevering to get them 100%. And we also had the same problem with taps leaking, we only found out the next morning until half a tank of fuel had leaked out on the garage floor! Happy rebuilding and keep the videos coming. All the best and thank you.

Great to watch someone who is learning about things as they go, big respect to you. One thing about your paint gun, the air cap at the front, there are 2 parts sticking out at the sides, they should be horizontal, that way you will get a good spray pattern. Keep up the good work and the videos coming. 😎👍.

Those screws are not Phillips screws. They are JIS, and if you use a Phillips screwdriver on them, the likelyhood of ruining them is pretty big. Get or use a JIS screwdriver. They are at glance look alike, but they are not. Learned it the hard way, so trust me.

I finished my rebuild of my XTZ 750 two weeks ago and I bought new spokes for rear wheel before actually checking the hub and rim. They where too far gone to use anymore, bearings where loose on the hub and rim was corroded badly. So now my XTZ has a TDM 850 3VD real wheel, that fits exactly. Maybe if someday I find a XTZ rear hub that is in good condition, I might put it back. Replacement rims and spokes are easy to get, hubs no one makes :(

which webshop are you going to use to order the fairings? Do you also know a good website where I can find the color codes of original colors used by yamaha?
@toms-channel
@toms-channel Жыл бұрын
Hi Mike, the fairings are not produced anymore. Everything which you can buy new is a recreation and not from yamaha. There is an Excel Sheet which you can search for and find the correct color codes. Better search for "rh lacke" which is a Germany based company which produces the paint. They have a Webshop where you can put your bike in and find the colors. I hope that helps. Greetings

Früher habe ich noch mit meinem Vater geschraubt, das ist inzwischen leider nicht mehr möglich. Insofern ist Dein Video eine gute Motivation!

So happy to find this channel, I'm currently doing a restoration of my 3LD Tenere with many parts in a similar condition. For now I just want mine safe to ride on the road this year & so far I've refurbished brake calipers & master cylinders but next is: New rims from SMPro, new brake discs & wheel bearings new chain & sprockets new fork internals carbs cleaned & fuel taps repaired a full service with valve clearances checked. Next winter will be a big strip down to re-coat the frame & engine casings plus maybe a new wiring loom and then re-spray the bike in Sonauto colours. Anyway, thanks for filming your restoration, it's a great project. Also big thanks for doing it in English- I'm afraid my German is limited to ordering a beer!

Hi Panagos, trust me, the Rim is broken, there is not much metall left where it rusted away. Also there is a crack directly next to it. When you go offroad with that, you risk breaking it completely. Imagine hitting a sharp stone directly on that Part.

I bought a XTZ750 a few months ago that I'm trying to restore for cheap as well. It was cheap because it was used like an enduro bike, so a lot of damaged fairings and parts. I just ordered spokes from a Swedish company for the rear as I had 3 bent spokes and others looked rusted. So far I have done on mine: All fuel lines replaced. Both fuel petcocks restored. Fuel tank hole repaired. Side fairings fixed and now preping for paint. New fairings would have cost as much or more than the price I got the bike for. Whole new tail mudguard, with lights as previous one was cut and would not pass inspection probably. New clutch cable. Changed clutch lever with Yamaha TDM 900 one, as old one broke when I crashed in the woods :) Had it spare. Checked carbs, working fine, might need to tune a bit but need to ride it more to feel it. etc. Lots of things still to do before spring.

What's the mpg / l/km on these bikes? How much gas does they take?
@ThePlatonius
@ThePlatonius 4 ай бұрын
@@SamOnABikeSweden 26L is standard tank, 5L reserve (so 21L + 5L reserve) How much KM/L you get is dependant if you know how to set carbs up, like all carbed bike. After doing carbs + valves and sync, i was getting close to 5L/100km almost. That was highway. but mostly how I ride, i get about 6L/100km as I ride offroad 50/50. so between 5-6 is good for me. Doing rallies, I usually hit reserve around 300km, but depends on the track. Then i know I can probably do around 40-50km more on reserve
