The good days. These guys would destroy this new generation. Both sides was solid, and their service game was by far better then anyone’s on tour today. They also served in the 130s. Also let’s talk about their return that was also top. Look at how federer hits, serves and returns. His whole generation played like him some could do it all some could out hit you but they was all solid on both wings

Sampras - Ivanisevic matches were awful drudge and turned viewers away in their droves. more people were watching the WTA of all things!

@@huzcer Wrong! You had the variation of The French and then Wimbledon in those days. Tennis today is the same on every surface. Rackets are too big, the volleying is rubbish and there are hardly any single handers. Like most of modern life, tennis is now rubbish!

@@patrickdoolan9527 lol pro rackets are like 10% bigger. Big deal. Servebot and volley was turning viewers off Wimbledon. Serves skidding off dirt and 2 shot "rallies" 😂

Strange, it is forbidden to serve with a step. Once there was Steve Denton .
@enematwatson1357
@enematwatson1357 3 ай бұрын
No it's not. You can take as many steps as you like as long as you don't step over the side line, middle line or baseline before the ball is struck.
@paolomontemurro2569
@paolomontemurro2569 3 ай бұрын
@@enematwatson1357 No, it's forbidden. Those types of foot faul you mention are another thing. Current ATP rules prohibit such a motion (or any service motion involving a running or walking start), only slight movements of the feet are permitted. (Rule n°18 ATP rules). There’s a nice balance that was achieved in the mid 2000s. It rewarded attacking play but it wasn’t just serve. Now it favors the returner a lot more.

Rubbish! They've spoilt the game now by encouraging crazy back court slug fests. These were golden times.. big serve and volleyers vs the great returners in tough conditions.
