It's a modern laptop, I didn't try this method on it before. Anyway, you can try to backup the BIOS and see if you will find something or not. Otherwise you can send the file to me on Telegram to check it, if that doesn't help you will have to use an SPI Programmer (like CH341A) in order to read/write the BIOS chip and remove the Password. t.me/WrongChip

You can get it using an SPI Programmer (the cheapest one is CH341A). Sometimes you can just use a software to backup your BIOS (if you have access to windows) and that can be useful in some cases. Hello, is there any way to fix the issues with the latest BIOS or force downgrade? The BIOS updates released as from 1.9 seem to be much more unstable and I can't use my laptop on battery or boot it without warming it up by running through CPU diagnostics first.

Hi, you can try to downgrade your BIOS using an older version from Dell. There is a way to force downgrade the BIOS using CMD but I don't remember it, you can search and you will find a solution for sure.

@@wrongchip I did in fact try that and it seems that they disabled forceit. I wouldn't mind getting a bios flasher if it's not too expensive but I've got no idea how to use it.

Hi, you have to use an SPI Programmer in order to read/write the BIOS chip. The cheapest Programmer is CH341A. About why you need to do that, because the file got corruption and you have to fix it like this.

First of all this method isn't for ThinkPad devices. About your laptop, in order to remove the Password, you will have to re-flash the SIO chip using a proper Programmer (expensive) like SVOD or Vertyanov.

No, this Programmer can't do it. You have to re-flash the SIO chip using JTAG.
