What would you say is the most walkable and bikeable neighborhood? I'm looking for something kind of 15-minute City like. I should also add that I am averse to crime and high prices😊

The best area that's walkable, bikeable and economical is probably the Village. Especially along May between Britton and Hefner.

Every state has something, and for Oklahoma it's tornadoes. With that being said it's been a long time sine Edmond has been hit! When it comes to tornadoes you should respect them, but not live in fear.

If you think you live in Edmond in truth you have to look at your address not your zip code. If you live on 2nd, 15th, 33rd , Danforth, Covell, Coffee Creek or Sorgum Mill rds it's mostly Edmond if you live east of Western and west of Post rd. Otherwise you probably live in okc , Oklahoma county, or Arcadia. Looking at the mile section lines like Nw 150th or Ne 234th . Like he said about Deer Creek its not a city but a school district in Nw okc Se Logan county and Nw Oklahoma county but it is growing fast may need another high school within 8 years to limit the school size below 5,000 kids. Edmond itself is projected to grow to between 250 to 500k residents in its 90 square miles depending on whether it starts having more apartments go up. My money is on about 350k with okc built up on 3 sides.

Funny thing is I remember before 2016 that 2300sqft house in Oklahoma city was as low as 150k. But since then prices have blown up. Even 1200 ft starter homes are around 200k its insane.

I haven't been to every city but I've seen quite a few. I think OKC is one of the cleanest most best maintained cities I've ever seen. We're from LA and visited there last Aug. We liked the more rural area south of OKC in the Tuttle/Newcastle/Bridge Creek/Blanchard area and looked at a couple houses.

Close enough to OKC to visit and gamble at WinStarr Cali is beautiful visually but is become trash each and everyday because of its politics, politicians and people. Cool place to visit my homestate but there are many damn good reasons soooooo many people are leaving. Just like NY, Philly and Chicago

👍 Liked & Subscribed. I'm planning on moving from Sacramento, California to OKC to be closer to family to help each other out. I never been to Oklahoma before and was a little unsure about it. I really appreciate the honesty and info in this video. It was very well done and gave me most of the information I was interested in and made me feel better about moving there. The only things missing that I wanted to know about is what the crime is like there, if it's safer, and is there a lot of homeless people there? Is there info about that in any of your other videos? If yes, which ones?
@MovingtoOklahoma
@MovingtoOklahoma 2 ай бұрын
There are homeless people downtown, and you might see them panhandling off the highway in other places. But it's noooooooothing like California. As far as crime there are some hot spots like any major city. I touch on some of those areas in my map tour video.

What about tornadoes ? Does people lives with that concern in their minds all the time ? It is a neighborhood with low risk of tornadoes on Oklahoma City ?
@MovingtoOklahoma
@MovingtoOklahoma 2 ай бұрын
They can happen anywhere! However, the local stations and the national weather service will let you know when it's going to be a severe weather day. It can even be 3 or 7 days in advance. A majority of the time nothing happens. In fact, if you live here long enough you'll tune them out. It's pretty much the boy that cries wolf! People only start to care once a tornado hits the ground, which is normally somewhere rural first. Also, the technology is so advanced they can track the potential path of a storm down to a city block. So, if there is a tornado warning in the south metro it could literally be blue skies in the north metro. You should respect them, but not fear them.
