The metal plate covers a joint in the weatherboards. Standard way of building. Metal plates on the corners are called 'corner soakers'. These are not an issue or a sign of poor workmanship.

teauxo Kia ora teauxo ka aroha mo to kuia a nanny Gaga . I was saddened to hear of the passing of such an amazing nanny she was a true defender of our ancient hapu along the east coast her love for Uepohatu and our other hapu will never be forgotten. Unfortunately all the hard copies of videos I have done over the years were stolen along with my cameras a while ago so I am unable to give you a hard copy has I no longer have it you are welcome to use this KZbin video anytime you like. I grew up in tikitiki and ruatorea and I know Laura and Chris and I knew your nanny Gaga very well my aroha goes out to the Whanau.

I feel your pain. We were recently moved from the house my grandmother had lived in for over 30 years, even the neighbours had to move and we were told it was because there was something wrong with the foundations of all the houses. We had our property checked out by a few different people who all told us that their was nothing wrong with the foundation of our house, nor with 1 of the 3 other neighbours that have since been moved out. Housing NZ still insisted that we had to move (we believe that they wanted us out so they could demolish everything and build even more houses on the properties, which are quite big), and we were lucky enough to be moved into a house right next door to our old one, which is also next to my mothers house (who was lucky because Hosing NZ hadn't required them to leave). So we reluctantly moved, happy to still be in the neighbourhood, only to discover a number of problems in the new house, top of the list being that one of the rooms (mine) was riddled with fleas, and the drain in the bathtub smelled like sewage!! So we bombed the house and called in Housing NZ about the drain, to which their representative replied that it was our responsibility to alert them to the matter! They fixed it, and then we found out that our old house had asbestos, or at least there was a sign in the window that said so, but it was gone after a few days (maybe they didn't want people to know?). So we've been in this house for 2 to 3 months now, and we just found out today that they might be moving us AGAIN! Apparently their doing it to everyone, their kicking people out of houses who are earning too much, or in our case, we live in a 3 bedroom house and they wanna kick us out, split us up and put us in our own individual houses (from my understanding, we still don't know exactly what's happening yet). So once again, we are sitting around waiting to hear from these bastards so we can see how they wanna mess up our lives this time. So in conclusion, in my point of viEw, Housing NZ doesn't care about Kiwis, just money, and niether do WINZ!
