It depends on the vintage of the machine. Generally post Year 2000 vintage machines can run our latest windows software and some pre 2000 machines that have been upgraded can too. If you email us your machine serial number to [email protected] we'll be able to advise you on your options.

@@Alan-hd9ov Your machine is a pre 2000 vintage machine so you would either require a full electronic upgrade to be able to run the latest version windows software or you can download the DOS based software that came with your machine from our website in our support section at www.boxford.co.uk. You would require 160TCL / V 6.09

Generally either flat surfaces or full cylindrical items using the option rotary indexing accessory. Slight dome is possible depending on the material and the finish required. Please Email [email protected] with your specific requirments

The automatic 4th axis is specifically for use on Boxford A3HSRi2 and A3HSRmi2 and is a factory fitted option as the machine requires upgraded electronics to operate a 4th axes.

Hi John, the travel on the A3HSRmi2 is 575mm x 325mm, however you do need to leave some space round the edge to clamp material if using clamps, plus account for the router bit size you are using, so I'd say around 550mm x 300mm for the max cut size. We have one of these in the school workshop which no one has used in a while. What would I need to get it up and running. It works, but in terms of software, we would be using fusion 360 for cad. Might be interested in doing some machining for f1 in schools.

You need to be an administrator - Select ‘Settings - Current User - Administrator - OK (password is normally blank unless someone’s changed it) The tool library edit icons are now available. This is covered in the software help under the section - Tooling and Axes - Setting Up

Very nice 👌 How much does the software cost ? I might buy a second hand boxford cnc mill , but it has no software. The seller also said I could get the mach 3 upgrade but I don't know what that is .

Please supply the serial number of any machine you are thinking of purchasing to [email protected] and then we can check if it is compatible with the latest software and provide a quotation. Machines with an 'i' in their name will all be compatible with Boxford software, e.g. A3HSRi2, 190VMCi etc. A MACH 3 upgrade would require replacing all the Boxford control electronics in the machine and running the machine from MACH 3 software and not Boxford software. We do not offer a MACH 3 conversion.

I also wonder if anyone in Boxford management monitors this KZbin site ...or is even aware of it? ------ On a personal comment ...it is really sad about the British ...particularly management ...nowadays. ----------- Once upon a time, British machinery was considered "top-of-the-line". Not only did this consideration stop ...but the British have done absolutely nothing to regain this once past reputation.

Although some users have used this machine for wood turning, it is designed as a metal and plastic turning machine. The wood dust can dry the lubricated slides out so we would say 'occasional' wood turning only.

We do two versions, a manual 4 position indexer and a fully programmable auto version. The latter is a factory fitted unit requiring an upgrade to the machine electronics. Both feature dual self centering 2 jaw chucks etc. Please Email [email protected] stating your region for up to date pricing.

Yes it will create G&M programs which can then be imported into the Boxford CADCAM Design Tools application and then subsequently downloaded to the 190VMCxi machine.

I inherited this lathe from my father who bought it new in about 1954 for Te Puke High School in New Zealand. I was his student in engineering classes for four years. Later I did post-doctoral research in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne, UK. Now I am a medical doctor in USA but I have a house with this lathe in New Zealand.
