I didn't address snakes because I just don't see or hear much about them here. I've only seen in my yard and it was a non-venemous rat snake that ate one of my chicken eggs. Thanks for watching! Honestly, I feel pretty much all areas in Beaufort are welcoming. Most neighborhoods have a good mix of natives and relocation/retiring folks. I've never had an out of town client move here and say they didn't feel welcome, just the opposite!

@ Thank you! Great to hear. My favorite of your videos is the Lady’s Island driving tour. Love the live oaks and low country architecture. I first visited hunting island in 2017 and stayed in Beaufort and have had my eye on the area ever since. What a gorgeous area. Not quite retirement age yet.

Thanks for watching! While we do have many of those "cookie cutter" new construction home, there are also many other options for older, resale homes with character. As far as taxes, as long as it's your primary residence, taxes in SC are the 5th lowest in the US. If it's a second home or investment, you will pay approx. twice as much.

@@TheLowcountry That's what they say about the taxes. I guess what troubles me is many of the houses that I am seeing were purchased two years ago, now suddenly they are listed for double or more than double what the seller paid and they haven't done anything to it, therefor taxes on the home they paid for example 350,000 two years ago now suddenly is for sale for 600,000. It's unaffordable for me. I smell a HUGE correction coming. I'm willing to pay 3 to 5% gain per year, not double in two years.

For some reason the video may have given the appearance of vinyl siding but all the homes in the video are actually hardi plank which is definetely the preferred (and most popular) building material for the exterior. Brick is also fairly popular but we really don't have many stucco homes in Beaufort.
