The specific magic of Monk played by Bernstein is that he makes everything sound so natural and yet retains it's surprise. Its calculated without being mannered , recognisable without being cliched. Like a conversation with a good friend who with single word makes you rethink your whole life.

the album is completely discontinued... not only is it not on spotify, I haven't found it on any other streaming service and it is not that easy to find a physical copy... I think it's because the record label who published the album is now defunct
