There’s an egr on that Detroit, he may have deleted the dpf filter, but that’s not a pre-emissions engine.

EGR and DPF systems are 100% functional. The truck completed a forced regen and is good to go. BTW a forced regen will always tell you if an engine in deleted or not.

The description given for the drivetrain layout is of a DD15 with 455/1650 power torque spec and an FR-10 Eaton-Fuller overdrive transmission. As one who is not impressed with the specing of trucks either by a manufacture or a fleet owner, I'll give this one a better than average score. With a 3.36 gear and reduced power and torque the truck will do its best with an overdrive transmission and the engine running at this highway speed. My 15 model has a more preferred 505 HP and 1750 ft-lb setting. However, with a direct drive DT-12 and 2.54 finals, I am running at 65 Mph at roughly the same RPMs. With more power and torque and the fact that my top gear is a direct drive, I am not loosing that power and torque at the tires that I would by running an overdrive. I would rather have a 3.38 final drive with my current drivetrain, and loose the 11R/22.5 tires for low profiles.

All valid points however I didn’t spec or build this new. 10, 13 and 18 speeds each have their place. 10 speeds are super durable and fantastic for turnpike applications. 18 speeds are ideal for heavy haul over 120,000 pounds and 13 Speed’s land somewhere in between. As far as how to build them new… Not many people know how to spec a truck anymore they rely on the software to tell them what to do which isn’t a bad thing.
