Sounding great! One of my all time favorite songs in the whole world. Takes me back to growing up, this song was often on the radio alarm that woke me up for grade school. I hear it and I am back pulling out clothes to wear for school that day. Memories! 🫶🏻 thanks for posting

Listen to his banter, you may already know who he is but did you know who his Dad was? Kevin Hocking was the orchestra leader for ESSGEE Entertainment (I can hear the wheels turning) Kevin Hocking was the man who gave us an extra 5+ minutes of ‘I Am A Pirate King’ and how can we forget 7 minutes of ‘With Cat-Like Tread’? Now he has taken his place in Heaven - let the choirs begin - Vale Ken Hocking🌻

I remember 1970s. maybe a problem with the mike, Brian needs to be louder in places, and maybe a mixer onboard BUT no regrets would still pay myself, for a breath of the late '60s and early '70s moment..I am a bit old to get out these days Brian, most of your 65 years plus fans/supporters are housebound these days LMAO "your age" but you keep on rocking, thankyou!

Brings shivers along my spine. Russel Morris IS the REAL thing. Rachel rang out all over our Kiwi [New Zealand] radio waves in its era and I was 7 in 1970 after hatching in '63. And even at the tender age of 7 I loved Russell Morris' masterclass piece 'Rachel'. I felt it then and today [as I write this today it is Sunday 23/06/2024] 54 years later I STILL feel it. It is a song of hope and faith under all regress of the insane Vietnam War. And I am not an anti-war activist as my grandfather served our country in the NZ Expeditionary Forces in WW1. Of course I don't support war, however I will support any/all military personnel who serve their country to defend it. Thank you Russell Morris this live performance is as great as any of yours.

Original by The Groop, they won the Hoaldey's Battle of The Sounds with this in the early 60's, sounded a lot better than Brian too.
@msfyn3 ай бұрын
I think if you see the rest of the clips of Brian singing this you will see it is sung 'tongue in cheek'. 🤭 Brian was a member of the Groop and actually wrote the lyrics - he will tell you it's 'his finest work' - again with laughter in his voice. Please check through the more recent clips I have of Brian for verification. Thank you for taking the time to watch and comment.🌻
