To me beat switches reset listener interest and can be done well or not well. But what a beat switch means too is that the rapper doesn’t have to hold someone’s attention for an entire song on one beat. What does killing a beat mean? Is it you use it til it starts to run out of peak hotness then switch or does it mean rapping it to death over 5 minutes.
